Fear the Kamigawa Dragons. I used The Night Star to completely drain a friend's life totals down to zero, and forced him to surrender. That's another victory for me!

Oh, and the 2006 Collector Tins for Yu-Gi-Oh, are not going to be as glamourous as I hoped. How dare they have the gall to put a COMMON card as a collector tin (Elemental Hero NEOS). The others I can understand, but if this is true, then Konami must be losing it. How about we post the tins we SHOULD'VE gotten here!

holy crap, that IS ludicrous...  it better have a cool alternate art, then.  first they make rares into commons, and now commons into rares.  i heard Cyber Dragon was going to be a tin card, but i didn't know what the others were going to be.  do you have any images/links you can show me?  personally, i liked the 2004 tins, with Command Knight and the other cool cards that were practically brand-new...  most of 'em had pretty cool effects, and i thought it was kinda cool that they misprinted some of the holofoils - that's collector's value right there.  anyway, i think Konami should keep up that trend of using completely new monsters for the tins, or even some of the cards that are currently only in Japan, as long as they're not crap like Panther Warrior or something...

yes, the Kamigawa dragons ARE pimp, at least from what i've seen.  i wanted a Keiga the Tide Star so bad back when i first started a with mono-blue deck.  unfortunately, since Time Spiral's coming out soon, the Kamigawa block will rotate out of Type 2, and i'll then have to make changes accordingly for my decks that i'm trying to make.  maybe i should just wait for a while until i have some spare cash to spend on deck-building...

Here's a picture of Tin Number 2!

I could be wrong, but Cyber Dragon and Raviel are TWO of the six tins. Unless Konami suprises us with a really cool card, my value on these real cards is going down.

i actually have the original Raviel from Shadow of Infinity - pulled him from my first pack of the set, luckily.  he's one of those cards that i often alter the name or give a nickname to just for shits and giggles - "Ravioli, Lord of Orgasms."  =3  here's a few others me and my friends came up with:

Buster Blader - "Busted Bladder"
Pot of Greed - "Pot of Weed"
Bottomless Trap Hole - "Bottomless Crap Hole"
Blue-Eyes/Red-Eyes - "Pink-Eyes Infected Dragon"
Ultimate Obedient Fiend - "Ultimate Obese Fiend"
White Magician Pikeru - "White Magiciain Pikachu," or "The Kindergartener"
Harpie Lady - "Herpes Lady"
Hydroggedon - "Hydrogen Bomb"
the Elemental/Destiny Heroes - "Elemental/Destiny Hero Dudeface"
Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer - "Koo-Koo-Katchoo"
D. D. Warrior Lady - "DD-cup Warrior Lady"
Solemn Judgment - "Moses"

Here's something I came up with myself.

Dark Magician: Dork Magician
Ebon Magician Currian: Udon Magician Curry, or The Kindergartener's Rival
Trap Hole: Crap Hole
Harpie's Brother: Herpies Brother
Penguin Soldier: DAMN YOU PENGUIN SOLDIER! YOU AND YOUR FLIP EFFECT!!
Princess Pikeru: Princess Pikachu
Princess Currian: Princess Curry

I think that's about it.

Penguin Soldier: DAMN YOU PENGUIN SOLDIER! YOU AND YOUR FLIP EFFECT!!

*lol at the Penguin Soldier reference*

yeah, i run a water deck, so i know how that goes.  i run 2 "Prinny Soldiers" (lol, just came up with that one), along with 3 Nightmare Penguins, an Abyss Soldier, 2 Giant Trunades, 1 Forced Back, and 3 Compulsory Evacuation Devices.  bouncing is fun, isn't it!?  well, of course it is...  *stares at his Nanako avatar and her alternating bounciness*  O_O

Penguin Soldier: Pvt. Prinny
Kuriboh: Furball
Wall Shadow: Brian Peppers
D.D. Warrior Lady: I ain't gonna say it, it's BEEN said.
Dark Magician: Dork Magician (I started calling it that after I saw that one episode of Trading Spouses with that Margaret person. "That family is DORK-SIDED" xD)
Time Wizard: Pluto
Neo The Magic Swordsman: THE ONE
Lord Of D.: Lord Of Dragon Breath
Big Eye: Hiei

That's all I could think of.
Blazing Phoenix Pawaa, ABARE!

hey, it looks like they've redone the Yugioh website now...  it looks a lot better imo.  let's just hope they do a better job of updating the place than they have been (btw, that Power of the Duelist pre-release thing needs to go now...).

i'd still like to see some decklists and/or strategies from you guys, if you've got any.  =3

very true.  the Dark World monsters actually make The Cheerful Coffin playable, lol.  however, be aware that if they are discarded as costs (like for Lightning Vortex, Raigeki Break, etc.), then their effects don't go through.  so sad...  =/

That is indeed so sad. I would swarm the field easily with my Dark World monsters! That reminds me, I gotta work on Duel Princess, the series! Now all I gotta do is wait for R-9 to post his work of fiction. Hopefully, it will be awesome!

You may have to wait a litle on that. I'm a currently a full-time college student who doesn't have any on- or near-campus housing yet, so I don't have nearly as much time to write as I used to right now.

Same here, R-9. Same here. Thing is, I did get housing out of the way. Now I got classes and all that stuff, I pretty much doubt I would get writing anytime soon.

here are some of the cards i've been needing for the Magic decks i want to make.  i do realize that i tend to throw in a lot of cards, but doing so allows me for more options to tweak my decks as i need to.  also, be aware that i am shooting for two different decks - a Doubling Season deck (mostly green/blue, although it may have all five colors), and a restrictive blue/white deck.

aetherplasm
concerted effort
cytoplast manipulator
celestial ancient
leyline of the meek
loxodon gatekeeper
spelltithe enforcer
suppression field
twilight drover
jotun owl keeper
birds of paradise
golgari grave-troll
sprouting phytohydra
petrified wood-kin
vinelasher kudzu
protean hulk
stone-seeder hierophant
perilous forays
elvish piper
seed the land
skeletal vampire
doubling season
dovescape
boseiju, who shelters all
pride of the clouds
meloku the clouded mirror
keiga, the tide star
vulturous zombie
grand arbiter augustin IV
master warcraft
phytohydra
giant solifuge
priviledged position
dune-brood nephilim
szadek, lord of secrets
witch-maw nephilim
voidslime
overgrown tomb
breeding pool
temple garden
hallowed fountain
watery grave

Stone-Seeder Hierophant, Perilous Forays, Seed the Land, and Vinelasher Kudzu combo very well together if you can get them all out onto the field.  the first three cards can allow you to bring out practically ALL of your basic lands (including the Ravnica block dual-lands, since they have basic land types), while Vinelasher Kudzu gains counters each time you do so!  Boseiju, Who Shelters All and Dovescape also work well, as they allow you to play your own instants and sorceries without being countered and STILL get the bird tokens out.  meanwhile, Doubling Season makes it all the more hellatious.  i'll also be trying to incorporate Experiment Kraj with the Graft creatures, and maybe some of the Gruul Bloodthirst cards, such as Borborygmos and Skarrgan Skybreaker.  i doubt i'll be able to squeeze all that into one deck, but i'll see what i can do once i get the cards.

i was also planning on putting Loxodon Gatekeeper, Spelltithe Enforcer, Suppression Field, Master Warcraft, and Grand Arbiter Augustin IV together into a blue/white control deck, most likely with a lot of counter, bounce, and tapping spells - something that'll drive my opponents crazy, lol.

problem is, most of these cards are rare and will possibly cost me a lot (especially the dual-lands) when i do get the money for them.  also, with Kamigawa leaving Type 2 soon, the combos i mentioned above will fall apart, so i may just have to set it up for Extended format instead of Standard, i dunno...

hopefully this list will give you guys a good idea of what i'm after.  lemme know what you think, or if you've got any good suggestions/comments/ideas.

What I wish is that there were some manner of card-game maker software around, like there is for hexmaps with wargaming.

i believe one of my friends found some type of program or website that gave you a template card background and allowed you to insert your own images and text on it, if that's what you're looking for.  i have no idea what the name of it is, though, sorry.  =/

Magic's website is starting to preview some of the new Time Spiral cards.  i saw one that i think would be good for the blue/white control deck i'm trying to make:

lemme know what you guys think about my deck ideas - do they own, suck ass, need improvement??  what would you guys run??  i'm always open to suggestions.

that mage is a double edged sword. if manipulated it could really bite you in the ass in a match.

Hey, the flash mechanic is new. What else uses that mechanism?

Hey, the flash mechanic is new. What else uses that mechanism?

there are several cards that have this ability (Plaxmanta and several enchantments do), but i think this is the first time that Magic has actually made it into a specific mechanic (i haven't seen it on any other cards yet anyway), sorta how they did with Vigilance a while back.

that mage is a double edged sword. if manipulated it could really bite you in the ass in a match.

yeah, but i figure a lot of the other cards i'd be running (Spelltithe Enforcer, Grand Arbiter Augustin IV, Loxodon Gatekeeper) would work the same way.  that's why you run counter and bounce spells, and conserve your mana when you can.  >=D

btw, that brings up an interesting question to ask you guys:  what's your favorite countering spell?  heck, what's your favorite spell period??  i've always liked Mana Drain, Boomerang, and Hinder, and my favorite creature spell would probably be Thieving Magpie.

my favorite counter is erratic portal. its an artifact. y favorite creature spell is elven lyrist. pay one green to bring a creature into play from your hand. pair that with a token generator like deranged hermit and haunted crossroads and you get a badass combo.
