Not to mention that it has romances that'd never happen in today's world (aka they don't crumble in 2 weeks with aftershocks). Also, the romances don't have the typical mindless complaining.

Speaking of robots, notice that despite the insane speeds/actions most of the mecha move at, the pilots are are mostly resistant to motion sickness/whiplash/etc. (aside from a few that's there for comic relief)

They wouldnt be pilots if they would get motion sickness/etc and aside from that, there arent a whole lot where they actually move at really extreme speeds

Yeah, but there's a trend of "natural talent" pilots in a lot of mecha anime that have never so much even gazed upon mecha before piloting it for the first time* and not end up sick afterwords.

*slight exaggeration, but you get the picture

It could be argued that in anime world, we are fictional. Of course, that would also have to mean that in Rand McNally people wear shoes on their head and hamburgers eat people.

While there are benfits to be an anime character... there are also disadvantages... bloody violent deaths, mutations, Alien Invasions (Both of the good and BAD kind), The constant need to POWER UP.

(guy) Have to deal with a pack (usually 5 or more) of women [deal=either running away from them because they're madly in love with you; having to appease all of them (sexually, which can be painful after several rounds*); or both

*men with very high stamina will have a fun time, that's for sure

(girl) learning the most painful ways to hurt gropers and perverts or end up getting raped or turned into some sex slave OR turned into some nympho (or combinations of that)

Yes there are a few disadvantages..... but I've always wanted to do the F5 face from Maple Story..... as well see a girl randomly enter a nude transformation sequence in the middle of a school setting or something.

But you see, anime characters are put in situations which are better than the situations we're put in. So, technically, anime CHARACTERS are not better than us. Anime WORLD, SOCIETY or LAWS OF UNIVERSAL BUREAUCRACY are better than ours!
I mean, yeah, you see this ASSHOLE (Yeah, Otaru Mamiya, I'm making an example out of YOU!) who's constantly harassed by three, six or another multiplication of three (For the sake of fetishes, like a cute one, a bitchy one, a nerdy one, and a looong etc.) BUT these ASSHOLES normally don't do anything except running away scared or getting a nose bleed. And let's face it, how many of you people get a nosebleed while watching Salma Hayek's exotic dance in From Dusk Till Dawn?

I get a hard-on, which is a completely different thing altogether (And one which I don't see anime characters getting very often, may I add!).

So, if any of us would be put in a situation like Otaru's (ASSHOLE!), I guess the first and last words coming out of our filthy sewers would be "Sex". Like in "Sex, I wanna have with you, sex! Sex, take out your clothes, sex!" Or some stuff like that.
