Legend of Zelda
« on: August 10, 2006, 08:33:24 pm »
It's been awhile since i had a Zelda fix,so i picked up Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition today for Gamecube.Currently it's the only Zelda game i have,(I don't count my SSBM as a true Zelda game, but it sure is fun!)though i still have a bunch of the old comic books by Valiant.Any other Zelda fans here?

Some of my faves...
Fave games: Zelda 1,Ocarina,Link's Awakening DX,Link to the Past
Fave hero: Link from LTTP and Awakening DX (he's the 'same' Link in both games)
Fave villians: Gannondorf/Ganon,and The Shadow/Link's Shadow
Fave gadgets: Master Sword and Hookshot
Fave minor monster: Darknut soldiers (Zelda 1)

Legend of Zelda
The Hero of Time

I have that Collector's Edition game as well.  I started to get into Majora's Mask, but for some reason it kept freezing up on me so I had to give it up(it happens when I'm about 3/4 of the way through the first dungeon).  I just might give it another try, but I gotta say that the time limit is a real buzzkill since one of my favorite aspects of the Zelda series was being able to freely explore the landscape without having to watch the clock.  I also have Ocarina of Time/OOT: Master Quest and The Wind Waker on the Gamecube plus A Link to the Past on the SNES.

KILLING KICK!!!

Ugh meat. Never again. that game was a travesty. lol.

Zelda was always groovy, I liked the feel and the mythology, it was just cool, y'know? I love the whole story behind the Triforce. It's ironic this popped up, as I just played through Zelda on NES a couple days ago.

Yeah, great series, I blame it for getting me hooked on RPGs and later D&D. lol.

Ocarina of Time = one of the best games EVER.  and i'm STILL waiting for Twilight Princess to come out (i had it reserved a YEAR ago).  i have a feeling it will usher in an even higher level of Zelda's great legacy, especially considering the release of the Wii so close to it.

lol... "release of the Wii..."  i don't think we'll ever stop making jokes at that name.  XD

Yup,it's a good one.I liked the fact we actually saw Ganon's human form, what he looked like before he became the pig-monster we know from the older Zelda games.

myself i don't know enough about Nintendo Wii yet....i usually wait until a system has been out for awhile before i pick it up.ANd i'm sure as hell waiting awhile for the PS3 to come down in price before i get one of those.Even for me,PS3 is gonna be way to expensive for me at launch.

As far as Twiglight Princess,i heard Nintendo's making it for Wii and a Gamecube version as well,so i may just get the Cube version,as i plan to hold onto my Cube for quite awhile.I already know that Wii will play Gamecube games, but there has been no news if Gameboy Player will work on Wii,so i'm not willing to part with my Cube anytime soon.I play all my GBA games on it because of my bad eyesight.

Isn't there going to be a Gamecube version of Twilight Princess? I'm not sure I wanna be swinging that remote around late at night.

I think TP's gonna be awesome, but I'm only scared about one thing. That blasted wolf creature thing.

Up here with the frenchies:

"Tu vas tu acheter le Nintendo Wii?"
"Oui?"
"Haha."

That was the point of Majora's Mask.  To make you think in a different way than you did in LttP or OoT.  You purposely had to be fast to complete the tasks.  The ending was pretty weak though.

EBGames continues to list both GameCube and Wii versions on preorder.  I find it hard to beleive they'd take preorders for something that won't exist.

Anyone else have the GameCube Ocarina of Time disc? The OoT Master Quest is where its at.

from what i heard,Nintendothemselves  has stated that Twilight Princess will be on both Wii and Gamecube.
So far i haven't heard anything different.

ADDED:
Gamefaqs doesn't have any USA titles listed for November yet for Cube, but the Europe Cube version of Twilight Princess is listed on Gamefaqs for November 26,so there may be a possible USA release close to that date.

Wii North American release is Tuesday, November 2.  They want it in stores before Thanksgiving so that the same mess that happened with XBOX360 doesnt happen to Wii.

My fave is Zelda II, but it seems to be the least well liked of all by far. It was so original, and the graphics were great for its time. Most of all, it was really, really fun.
