Kunio fans?
« on: August 09, 2006, 12:03:40 am »
To any of the Kunio fans here...which game made you a fan of the series?

For me,it was NES River City Ransom that got me into the series. In Japan, this game is known as Downtown Nekketsu Monogatarai.RCR was the first of many Kunio games i began to aquire.Since then,i've gotten...

USA games:
River City Ransom (NES)
River City Ransom EX (GBA)
Crash N The Boys-Street Challenge (NES)

Japan games:
Downtown Nekketsu Kosuinkyoko (NES)
Nekketsu Kakutou Densetsu (NES)
Nekketsu Koha Kunio-Kun: Bangai Rantouhen (Gameboy)
Shodai Nekketsu Koha Kunio-Kun (SNES)
Shin Nekketsu Koha-Kunio Tachi no Banka (SNES)
Kunio no Oden (SNES)
Kunio-Kun Nekketsu Collection 3 (GBA...it has Technos Samurai and Ike Ike!Nekketsu Hockey-Bu from NES on it)

River City will always be special to me,as will River City EX...my other faves would be Kunio Tachi no Banka,Bangai Rantouhen, and Nekketsu Collection 3.

Fave characters list...
Fave hero: Riki/Ryan/Rocky (Rocky is his name in Street Challenge)
Fave girls: Roxy (RCR/RCR EX) and Misako (Banka)
Fave villians: Shinji (Banka) and Simon/Slick (RCR/RCR EX)
Fave weapons: Pipe and Chain (RCR/RCR EX)
Fave features:
1. Create a character (Nekketsu Kakutou Densetsu) and Custom Self (RCR EX)
2. Play as Misako and Kyoko/the motorcycle levels (Kunio Tachi no Banka)
3. Variety of moves (Bangai Rantouhen) and (RCR EX)

Right now i got my eye on two more...

I'm interested in the import Genesis version of the soccer game. It's on the USA NES with 4 players, but i'm interested in the Genesis version, which has a few added features to it,despite only being 2 players. Most likely,i'd be playing it in 1 player mode all the time anyways.

The one i'm not sure about yet is the baseball game for SNES...it looks good in screenshots, but i'm still considering yet before i do anything.Money's al little tight at the moment anyways,i'm saving up for a Xbox 360,plus i read in the newspaper yesterday they just released a device that lets you play PSP games on the tv for $80,so,i'll have to see about Kunio at a later date.

Kunio and friends starred in World Cup Soccer on NES, with different names, skin tones, and hair colors depending on what team was chosen. However, only the player's team could have Kunio himself. AI teams didn't have a Kunio palette.

Yup!The import Genesis version is only 2 players, but it's the same game, slightly better graphics, some voice clips, and some added scenes not in the NES version.
