Yeah, one of the secondary characters in 10-2 is supposed to be the founder of the Shinra corporation.

Yeah, basically they made it up so... what was it again?  FFX is a prequel to FFVII now?  Like it's the same world and FFVII is what happens to it?

Of course whatever happens to all that mythos in FFX to become FFVII's mythos is odd.  No mention of Lifestream and whatnot in FFX.  Could those pyreflies and whatnot in FFX really "morph" into the whole FFVII thing?

Also see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_X#Legacy and the corresponding section on FF7.  Granted it doesn't say exactly what the connection is but I forget where the original source is.

As if Squeenix hasn't trampled over the Final Fantasy thematic tradition enough as it is, establishing a connection between the two is a goddamn motherfucking sin if you fucking ask me.

Sounds like what they did with Chrono Cross/Chrono Trigger.

Am I the only one who didn't really like FF7 to begin with?
You're not.  I actually hate FF7 now due to the over-exposure of its paper-thin plotline and one-dimensional characters.

I like FFVII, though I think I like FFX and X-2 better.  Being able to switch characters out on the fly is great.  Plus Lulu is awesome.

Magna Carta:  Tears of Blood is alright.  Kinda hard gameplay, but totally worth it because just about all the females are quite busty.

Shadow Hearts:  From the New World is pretty damn good, too.  It's wacky, but it's quite fun and not as hard as Magna Carta:  ToB.
Bang, bang...I shot you down...

Not really. In CC it's established quite early on that it is, in fact, the same world as Chrono Trigger.

Perhaps, but it seemed like a hack-and-slash sort of job.

So that means even fanfictions (Including FFVisions and the like,) are going to go downhill because of it's somewhat paper thin plot. Unless I can figure out where that story is going to go, since I hope it would be a much better Final Fantasy VII.

Any suggestions on how to make FFVisions better, so the storie's not completely paper thin? Hopefully I won't be smited for this....

Plus Lulu is awesome.

He Who Hath Titjob Avatar makes a good point.

Also, Chrono Cross and Radical Dreamers both sucked, and Chrono Trigger was one of, if not the, greatest RPG of all time.  While FFVII and FFX were both kinda mediocre. (even if 7 had Tifa and 10 had Lulu) So the analogy is totally off-basis, since in the CC/CT scheme it's quite clear which game is crap and which game is awesome.

I humbly agree. Even though Import and I added some lovely ladies to Final Fantasy: Visions, the story still isn't going anywhere yet. I'm still tied up with college work and the like to even try to get started. I still need some inspiration to continue Visions though. Hopefully I created a good villainess that should fit the same mold as Sephiroth, Kefka, and their other villain high school buddies. Those were great villains.

Hey, when does this turn from a Final Fantasy discussion thread to an avatar changing room? Just want to know what people think of my Final Fantasy fanfic so far. Is it all right? Does it need a few changes in the progressing chapters? Feel free to post!

Thread hijacks are part of forum life. The only time a hijack should be apologized for is if it occurs in a sticky.

And don't change your avatar just because other people want you to. Do it because you feel like it. If you're fine with what you've got, keep it.

How dare you put Kefka and Sephiroth in the same sentence!  Sephiroth isn't 1/100th of a percentile of the villain th at the great Kefka was!

Sephy the emo pansy compared to the great, maniacal, mentally deranged, sado-possibly-masochistic demon god that Kefka was. U_U

Also don't change your avatar.  Why change avatars?  I have this one on like every forum I go to, and I don't plan on changing it anytime soon.

Okay, maybe if I can get some free time on my hands (And some final fantasy kicked in,) maybe I can make Zyra (The slated main villainess of Final Fantasy Visions) kind of like Kefka. All those years trapped under weapon corps rule has made her insane, and determined to destroy the world... Then recreate it, and destroy it again!

Such words of inspiration, coming from you Bang Doll.

Just make her poison the kingdom of Doma's water supply and you'd be set >_>
<_<

Also, I'd probably be slightly less scurred of Kefka's end-game appearance if he was a chick.  Homophobia alert, homophobia alert!!

Oh and make the best way to beat her be four characters with Flame Shields, three with high magic casting Merton every round with economizers and the best magic user with a gem box, and the fourth using the Offering and Genji Glove and hammering away with the Ultima Weapon and a Maneater U_U

Okay yeah so I liked FF6 a lot.

i like my avatar too, i was just worried that it was getting kinda old, that's all...  but i guess alternately-bouncing boobs is something that never gets old, since you don't really ever see it anyway!  =3

and i like your avatar too, Bang Doll - she's got that sassy, sexy glint in her eye, and her top's so tightly stretched, it almost looks like she's about to bust out of it.  i like that.  >=D

i guess i need to play the other Final Fantasy games sometime (especially 6) just to see how good they are compared to what i HAVE already played...
