Resident Evil Outbreak File 2: Running an offline Umbrella Team.

Thought I'd post this,for those who play Resident Evil Outbreak File 2 offline and enjoy running a 'team' of characters.Once you have unlocked the ability,you can play as an NPC,and have AI teammates that are NPC's.This will cover running an Umbrella themed 'team'.

The File 3 NPC's are known as such because they were found unused on the first Outbreak game,and it was thought that they'd be made available with Outbreak File 3,since there were a few more levels Capcom had made.However,as of yet,Capcom has no intention to do a 3rd Outbreak game.Once you have the File 3 NPC's unlocked and saved,you no longer need the code on.Stats on the File 3 NPC's can be found on Gamefaqs.

As far as 'Hero' characters,here's a sort of offline 'Rescue' Team you can do...

Play as: Elana,a nurse (Alyssa type from Outbreak)
1st AI: Tony,the RPD Dog Trainer (Mark type from Outbreak File 2)
2nd AI: Hursh,a hopsital doctor (George type from Outbreak)

Since Elana is an Alyssa type,she's got her lockpicks,and the potshot ability.With Tony being a Mark type,he's good at Melee attacks and starts with a gun,and having Hursh as a George type,he's good with medicine and such,and both respond favorably to Elana's instructions. (Yeah,that sound a bit bad...lol)

Anyways,it's a nice team to play,I went through 'End of the Road' scenario with them,and it went fairly well.

You know, this game is sitting on my game shelf and I have honest to God never played it. My brother got it from my violence loving Uncle and he hated it so he gave it to me for 10bux (It was only 15 when he got it), so like...is it fun? Is it good? Because I hate having games sitting around that I don't play.

Here's what i think...

(Keep in mind,i kinda like odd games in an overall series,so take this with a grain of salt...lol)

I enjoy both of the Outbreak games alot.I like having two AI character backing me up in the levels,and i like alot of the references to the other RE games,such as....

The opening movie to Outbreak 1,detailing William Birkin slaughtering the Umbrella team.

Nicholai Ginovaef's cameos in the final scenario in Outbreak 1(Yes,Capcom confirmed it,that is Nicholai trying to get the Thanatos Tyrant's blood.Capcom of Japan came out and said it at the time of the japanese release,even thoug Nicholai has a different voice actor in this one.)

Below Freezing Point in Outbreak 1 is Birkin's lab from RE2.

The Hive scenario in Outbreak 1 takes place in the hospital from RE3- Nemesis.

In Outbreak File 2,not only is there the RPD Building from RE 2 and 3,you get to interact with Marvin and Ben from RE2, AND unlock them as playable characters!

Alyssa carries lockpicks,and is described as a "Master of Unlocking",a nod to Jill Valentine.

There's a few U.B.C.S.'s to play as,and characters that resemble Hunk that you can play as(plus Hunk himself if you use Gameshark)

In Outbreak File 2,you fight another Mr.X Tyrant,similar to the one in RE2.

I find that the Outbreak games are alot of fun,there's TONS of unlockable characters to play as,plus the 8 main characters are pretty neat also.I also like the fact that they put in melee weapons also,plus you can make Molotov Cocktails,and David can make homemade weapons,such as combining a wooden pole and a butcher knife to make a spear,or combining a battery and a iron pipe to make a stun rod.Overall,here's my 3 fave Resident Evil games....

So,seeing how two of my 3 faves are Outbreak titles,that should tell you how much i like them,even though i also have RE games such as RE4 Premium Edition for PS2, RE1 for Sega Saturn and the Gamecube remake of RE1. ( I love shooting the Wesker zombie and the Golden Tyrant in the Saturn's exclusive Battle Mode, though...lol)

ADDED: As I was beating the game with Outbreak File 2 with Yoko,I kept pressing the ad-lib button while helping Linda walk after killing the Tyrant.Yoko reveals that when she was with Umbrella,she donated some of her cells,which were later used to make 'T',referring to the T-Virus.(Yoko's age in the Outbreak games is gvien as 23).Yoko futher says in her ad-libs that when she found out that her cells had helped make 'T',she felt really bad,and that's when Greg,the Ex-Umbrella researcher from Outbreak 1 did surgery on her,to erase her memory.If Yoko succeeds in getting Linda out of Raccoon City before it gets nuked, Yoko regains all her memories,and then Yoko and Linda testify in court about Umbrella's deeds,which leads to Umbrella's eventual downfall at the start of Resident Evil 4's opening.

The other ending leading up to Umbrella being shut down is Alyssa's ending to Outbreak File 2.She is shown bench-pressing weights,then she reads the newspaper,to find that her article about her escape from Raccoon City titled "What is B.O.W.?" made the pages,and the tv is alive with news reports of Umbrella's new legal problems.
