Well, this isn't a card-game deck per se, but rather officer cards for Starmada X. It's something I want to playtest one of these days, of course. I'm also toying with the idea of "negative" officers that actually reduce the costs of ships, and I'm going to see how those turn out.

EDIT: I also forgot to change Scotty's rarity. Oops.

Okay, that works too. I'm also creating cards for Voltage Fighter Gowkaiser and Labrynth of Flames.

If you're going to create negative officers, I recommend that you start with one of the most famously incompetant admirals in sci-fi history: Admiral Ozzel. He is the lousy commander that all other lousy commanders are measured against.

Wow. You certainly went the extra mile creating character cards for obscure characters from popular Sci-Fi themes, like Ozzel. Poor guy.

Well, the actor had to find something to keep him busy in between his stints on Dr. Who, so why not Star Wars?

Yeah, I'm basically still trying to make character cards, but STILL couldn't find an image hosting website. I'm scared that I might get flamed for my efforts, or my works stolen.

I use xanga, myself. I don't really blog on it, I just use it for the gig of hosting space they give you.

I'll see what I can do. So many card ideas, so little time to post them all! Even trying to make Duel Princess cards under the new rules seem impossibe without samples.

My new Dragon Deck:

MONSTERS (23):

Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV4 x2
Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6
Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8
Armed Dragon LV3 x2
Armed Dragon LV5
Armed Dragon LV7
Armed Dragon LV10
Lord of D. x3
Masked Dragon x3
Mirage Dragon x3
Twin-Headed Behemoth
Sangan
Magician of Faith
King of the Swamp x2

FUSIONS (1):

King Dragun

SPELLS (21):

The Flute of Summoning Dragon x3
Stamping Destruction x2
Level Up! x2
Level Modulation
The Graveyard in the Fourth Dimension
Polymerization
Fusion Recovery
Dragon's Mirror
Magical Mallet x2
Scapegoat
Heavy Storm
Mystical Space Typhoon
Premature Burial
Rush Recklessly x2
Swords of Revealing Light

TRAPS (5):

Royal Decree
Magic Cylinder
Sakuretsu Armor
Call of the Haunted
The Dragon's Bead

TOTAL:  50 in deck, 1 fusion

The deck's a bit shaky right now, but the theme I had in mind was to try to use Horus LV8 and cards like Royal Decree, Mirage Dragon, and The Dragon's Bead to keep the opponent from using any Spells or Traps to help them.  The dragons' relatively high attack power (along with Rush Recklessly) can then usually plow through just about any monsters the opponent tries to use to defend themself with.  I'll probably end up tweaking this deck later on...  what do you guys think about it?  Any suggestions on cards I should take out/put in??  I probably need to find some more copies of the LV dragons, King Dragun, Royal Decree (and then take out the other traps), and maybe a Tyrant Dragon...  maybe also some Troop Dragons, or even a Jinzo.  =/

Yeah, but Jinzo's a machine. Unless you have Amplifier and DNA Surgery to back him up, he doesn't count as a dragon. Unless Konami can make a dragon to negate traps, that combination will work.....

Yeah, but Jinzo's a machine. Unless you have Amplifier and DNA Surgery to back him up, he doesn't count as a dragon. Unless Konami can make a dragon to negate traps, that combination will work.....

Amplifier = Crap, imo.  I think I made my little rave on that card a few pages back in this thread, sorry.  =/

uh, dude, check that banned list i posted.  Jinzo's only limited now.  major props for pulling him from a 1st edition pack, i still only have the tin version of him... that'd probably sell for around $50 from an online store, maybe more.  i remember pulling Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8, Cyber Dragon, Armed Dragon LV10, and TWO Mazera DeVilles (from 2 packs i grabbed at once) - it's always an awesome feeling when you find something like that.

but, Amplifier? personally, i don't think it's all that great - besides, it came out WAY back in Ancient Sanctuary, the expansion where secret rares ended and ultimate rares hit the states, so it's not very "long-awaited" anymore.  anyway, sure, you can use your own traps now, but now your Jinzo can die to a Mystical Space Typhoon, especially if that M.S.T. is set first (it IS a Quickplay Spell).  if i recall correctly, if Amplifier is destroyed while it is equipped to Jinzo, then Jinzo goes down with it - just chain M.S.T. while he attacks or something, but not right after Amplifier is played, because the destruction effect will resolve before Amplifier's does (the last card in a chain always resolves first, remember), and Jinzo won't be destroyed by it.  besides, with only 1 Jinzo in your deck, and, let's say 3 Amplifiers just for the hell of it, there's a good chance that you won't pull Jinzo easily (unless you search/Special Summon it somehow other than through Witch of the Black Forest, cuz she's still banned), and if you pull your Amplifiers with no Jinzo out, they're just dead draws - you could set them face-down as bluffs at best.  i guess you could use Iron Blacksmith Kotetsu's flip effect to search for Amplifier if you got Jinzo on the field, but he's more for Warrior-Toolbox decks.  sorry, but that just seems very ineffective to me.  =/

btw, you may or may not know, but Counter Trap cards (the ones with the curved arrow on them) can still negate Jinzo's summoning if they are chained to it because they are of a higher spell speed (level 3) than Jinzo's continuous effect (level 2, i believe), and if you know your chaining rules, which is where most people get confused, if someone chains a certain level spell speed card, you can only respond with one of equal or higher spell speed.  as far as the rules go now, counter trap cards are the only cards that have a spell speed of level 3, which is the highest.  so if you summon Jinzo, watch out for Solemn Judgment, Horn of Heaven, and the recent Forced Back - Seven Tools of the Bandit or another Solemn Judgment would probably be the only things that could save you at that time, and both of those cards require life point payments to activate, regardless of whether or not they resolve properly - you can't get "refunds" for activation costs.

traps can also be chained to Royal Decree, which basically does the same thing as Jinzo.  although it's only a Continuous Trap (level 2), another card, such as Dust Tornado (i THINK Normal Traps are also level 2, i could be wrong), could be chained immediately to its activation.  since the last card in the chain resolves first, Dust Tornado would destroy Royal Decree, and then Royal Decree's effect would resolve...  if it wasn't in the graveyard first.  =/

ok, enough of my raving...  my favorite card, hmm...  probably either D.D. Warrior Lady or Chaos Emperor Dragon: Envoy of the End (yeah, he's still banned... D.D.'s restricted).  D.D. Assailant (also restricted) is cool too - i love the artwork on it.  =D

As far as using DNA Surgery with him - hello??  It's a continuous TRAP???  And Jinzo, like, NEGATES traps, so it wouldn't work anyway...?????  Besides, what's the point of making Jinzo a dragon when there's nothing in my deck that would allow him to benefit from him being a dragon while he's on the field in the first place?  I'm simply inserting him for his EFFECT - negating traps.  He essentially does the same thing as Royal Decree (which, btw, one of my friends traded me a copy =D), so I could use him, if the need arises, alongside Horus LV8 to keep my opponent from playing either spells or traps.  And although Jinzo also negates MY traps, I'm only running 5 traps in my deck anyway, so it doesn't hurt me that much - yet ANOTHER reason why I shouldn't run Amplifier (besides the fact that I don't even HAVE that card anyway...).  As far as a trap-negating dragon, Tyrant Dragon's probably the closest thing (note that "the first attack of your Battle Phase" on the card text is supposed to refer to Tyrant Dragon's first attack during the Battle Phase.  The updated version of Tyrant Dragon on the site I linked to, for some reason, didn't have a card description on it, and also the thumbnail-linked image was a lot smaller and more difficult to read, so just take my word for it.  >=P):

I also made the following changes to the deck:

- The Graveyard in the Fourth Dimension, Sakuretsu Armor, The Dragon's Bead, Mirage Dragon

+ Level Modulation, Mirror Force, Royal Decree, Jinzo

Any other suggestions for this deck, or any of the other decks I'm trying to build that I mentioned way back when??

Yeah, Tyrant can only negate traps that target him. He doesn't negate non-target traps like Mirror Force.

Also on the subject, there is a contest that allows you to create your own Yu-Gi-Oh card. Unfortunately the contest is open to kids ranging from 3 to 17. Hello? ADULTS have created the Yu-Gi-Oh anime and card game, why can't they grant the contest for their more senior members as well? Afraid we'll create something too sexy or violent?

Here's the link if you don't believe me.

Still, it's somewhat better than what some kids could create. The card is either going to completely rock, or completely suck.

Hey, I just read about that contest.  Yeah, it's a shame that younger kids/teens are the only ages eligible.  I also heard that the Magic website has been having a contest of sorts to find a new designer, I believe... maybe due to this kinda shit happening all the time, lol:

On a different note, I was just wondering - anyone else made any new decks lately??  I'm curious to see what people are running, for those of you who still play any of the games.

Also, I finished a Setsuna card, and uploading it wasn't easy. Here you go!

I'm sort of nervous when uploading images for sites I don't know very well, please don't kill me for this or steal my images.....

Cool card creation, LordRyunson!  I think it'd be GREATLY overpowered in the real game though...  a 5/5 creature with Fear AND two badass effects for only 4 MANA?!?  AND she has a nice rack!  It's too much man...  O_O  Still, this makes me want to create some cards of my own sometime!  I'll have to check into this...

Oh, I looked up some rulings on the cards I put in my new dragon deck - apparantly, King of the Swamp won't work with Dragon's Mirror since, although it can be used as a substitute Fusion Material Monster, it isn't listed as a Fusion Material Monster for King Dragun.  Also, Level Up! and Level Modulation are a bit tricky to use, with the whole "This monster cannot be Special Summoned except by..." text on the higher-level monsters, even though the spells say to ignore the summoning conditions - the monsters with this summoning restriction have to have been previously summoned properly in order to be used with Level Up! and Level Modulation, sorta like the rulings with Monster Reborn, Premature Burial, and Call of the Haunted (unless they've been changed...).  Soooo, I made some more tweaks to the deck:

- 2 Dragon's Mirror, Level Up!, Level Modulation

+ Polymerization, Fusion Recovery, King of the Swamp, Spear Dragon

Hopefully this will allow me to bring out King Dragun easier.  Plus Spear Dragon's a pretty decent beatstick - he'll be a "filler" until I can get a Tyrant Dragon once again.  =3

Any comments??
