Ownage complete! I beat Falz on normal mode and made Level 30. This weekend I'll start up on Hard mode.

Cool! ^_^

Myself I just beat XMen Legends 2 the other night, looks like we're both doing good.
I'm considering making a Wolverine character for my PSO Plus and passing him one of my extra Photon Claws...lol

I have a few 'custom characters' based on other characters. They are...

Based on Sailor Moon characters:
Lita Kino (HUnewearl, based on Sailor Jupiter)
PrnceDiamond (HUmar,based on Prince Diamond)
Sapphire (HUmar,based on Sapphire)
Rubeus (RAmar,based on Rubeus)
Wicked Lady (FOnewearl, based on Wicked Lady)
Others:
Mr.Freeze (RAmar, based on the Batman villian, complete with Frozen Shooter, Cure/Freeze and Freeze Barrier)

I never did figure out how to legitimately get any of the weapons beyond Soul Eater and Akiko's Frying Pan. I wanted Bernie's Flame Visit as a trophy, and always thought a Photon Claw would be good.

well, the Soul Eater and Frying Pan i got legitamately,i have a guide book that covers the original PSO for Gamecube(as far as i know, they never made a USA book for PSO Plus).I think it's by versus books,it has a section that covers all the offline Ep.1 quests on PSO for Cube.

As far as Flame Visit, there are some interesting Action Replay codes,if you're not adverse to using that, mind you. There's a code called 'Meseta Bank Mod'...essentially you put a specific amount of money into your bank, and the first item in your bank becoems the corresponding weapon/armor,etc.(Each thing has a specific Meseta value in the code). Also, there are codes such as 'enemies drop all rares',in which case, you just kill the enemy that would legitimately drop the Flame Visit, and poof!He drops it!

I used AR for some of the items, due to how long it takes to legitamtely find some of the stuff. To give you an idea, when the regular PSO 1 and 2 hit the Cube,i couldn't get a basic Double Saber for the life of me.(I only play offline,so trading was not an option).I used an AR code to get a Double Saber, and by the time i legitimately found a Double Saber, two years had passed. On top of that,I also gave myself a Photon Claw back then, and i now have PSO Plus, and in the many years I've been playing PSO on the Gamecube,i finally found my first legit Photon Claw, and it's been close to 5 or 6 years since the original PSO hit the Cube?!?I just don't think a game should make you wait THAT long to find a bunch of the various weapons, but that's just my personal feelings on the subject.

Weather you use AR,do the 'duping trick' or just play legit,PSO is still a great game anyways,i just wish it was more balanced on how often the rares turn up.There's still a bunch of other rare weapons in the game that i STILL haven't come across yet,but.....life goes on....

I tend not to use cheating devices or bugs like the duping trick. If I could even find out what enemies drop these items, it'd be a help.

check a website called PSOworld, they got guides that tell you what all the enemies drop, and how the drops change on all the difficulties.

i got a lot of information from the march 2003 (#97) issue of tips & tricks magazine.  it also mentions word of some coverage in the march 2001 issue as well, so you may check that one out too, if you're willing to back-order some issues.

anyway, the article covers a few of the rare-item quests, and has several pages with lists of rare items, their stats, and which id's they drop for.  it didn't mention anything about from which enemies/difficulties they dropped, though...

PSOworld I will find. Name sounds familiar; I might've gone there once or twice last time I was into PSO (2 years ago now).

yeah, that's the thing with PSO...On Normal difficulty,a Rappy may drop one thing, but on other difficulties, they may drop something totally different for each section ID.PSO is very complicated when it comes to the items and such that enemies drop.

maybe that's why i liked it so much, lol...  just knowing that there's a really rare, kick-ass item out there just makes you wanna play the game more and more.  i hope phantasy star universe is the same way.  and hopefully there WON'T be any lag tricks to where you can dupe stuff - actually make it that much more challenging to find the good stuff.  i really like games with that kind of difficulty.

I hope the item finding won't be as difficult as PSO.I've been playing PSO on the Cube for years now and there's STILL many weapons, etc.,that i've never found legit...that's a feature about PSO i did not like.It should not take actual YEARS for many of the various items to drop. That's my one real complaint about PSO.Other than that, the game rocks!

Most likely i will preorder Phantasy Star Universe.I'm just sad there will be no offline multiplayer. (Sega confimed that ALL multiplayer modes are online only).

WHAAAAT?!?  NO OFFLINE MULTIPLAYER?!?

*accidentally casts Rafoie lv. 30 on himself and 'SPLODES*

....dammit, i did it again....

*uses Scape Doll*

hmm, that could be a problem...  isn't it also coming out for the Xbox 360?  if so, i may try to switch my reservation for it instead of the ps2 so i won't have to buy a hard drive and what not...

...of course, then i'd have to buy an Xbox 360, but then i'd have online access for any game.........right???

1. As far as i know, you don't NEED the hard drive for the PS2 version.Never heard that you did need it...

2. PSU's offline mode is one player only in ALL versions.ALL Multiplayer stuff is online only.

3. You have to start out with the in- game character.Sega said later there is a feature you can unlock to crate your own character, but you will miss out on a number of the game's cutscenes and special events.Your created character can only visit areas of the game you've cleared as the in- game main character already.

The other night i created an new PSO Plus character,Ranma G- Type.I based her on Girl- Type Ranma, she's a human Ranger, has red hair in a pigtail(This option gave her big round glasses),she's short, like the character, and has a nice bustline. ^_^

Today she defeated De Rol Lie,and graduated to Level 14,and she can explore the Mines now.I also programmed a chat phrase for her for when i play in 1 player mode.
Whenever i do a Mag attack,i press Up on the control pad/C- stick and she says "Hiryu Shoten-Ha!!"....lol

By the same token,i have chat phrases for my other characters...

When I do a Mag attack with my Lita Kino character (female newman Hunter),Up makes her say "Say hello to my little friend!" and pressing Down makes her say "Jupiter says... 'YOU'RE TOAST!""...hee hee

...and my Mr.Freeze character says 4 phrases...
Up: "Tonight's forecast..a Freeze is coming!"
Left: "Everybody chill...CHILL!"
Down: "FREEZE IN HELL!"
Right: "That's MISTER Freeze to you." (Yeah, from Batman the Animated Series...lol)

I had symbol chats. My favorite was to make a black face with sunglasses, two open hands, and a red pill and blue pill icon in either one. I used it to ask people into games online. XD

lol!

Yeah, every time i have Lita say "Say hello to my little friend!" i end up saying it aloud, giving myself a really bad Mexican accent...lol..of course,i also do that every now and then in the Res Evil games when i open up on a zombie with a Shotgun...hee hee

hmm, no immediate create-a-character either??  man, i may be having second thoughts about this game...

oh well...  all this talk of pso made me a little nostalgic, so i went and made me a FOnewm to toy around with.  i only need a few more mind strength points to be able to use that lvl. 30 Grants and the Evil Curst i got...  sure is nice to have had a friend who was able to get online and get this stuff and show us how to dupe it, lol...

btw, i was just wondering if anyone knew of any good online-only (or offline) items out there?  my friend found some doublesaber-type weapons that had all-caps red text instead of yellow like most of the rare items do...  they had weird names too, like "MARIO TWIN + 250" and what not...

First, don't judge PSU too quickly. If you're unsure, rent it first.Everything i know about PSU i learned by searching the net and places like PSOworld, which have many details about PSU.Some guy i knew tried talking me out of PSO 3,6 MONTHS before it came out! (He doesn't have the net,so all he had to go by was what i told him).
He basically pissed all over PSO 3 JUST because it's a card-based game, despite the fact he plays real life card games, such as Magi,Yugioh, and more.I got PSO 3 right away, and i loved it,and he's been pissed at me ever since beacause it's one of the few card game video games i like(The other being Metal Gear Acid on PSP).Don't judge PSU so quickly, give it a chance, rent it first if you're that unsure, okay?

Now,PSO weapons with RED text are S-Rank weapons from completing the Challenge Modes with a high rank.Online you can name your weapons(from what i heard.I never play PSO online). However, offline gamers get preset weapons like Samba maracas,etc...there is the AR Meseta bankmod code, where offline only gamers can get some of the RED text weapons, but many frown on AR,so i'll understand if you don't wish to use that option. All i can suggest is for legit use,try doing the Challenge Modes online with people.Gamefaqs and PSOworld have detailed info about the Challenge Modes and what you need to do(Your time limit determines the rarity of your prize).

well, i already set up a reservation at gamestop for a ps2 copy... but it's ok, i have faith that it'll be just as good as pso episode 1 and 2, if not better.  thing is, do i want to stick with a ps2 copy, or save up and get an xbox 360 and try to change my reservation to fit that console, since it already comes with online service for all of its games (as far as i know)...?
