One thing I'd like to have seen if Sogna was still around is one of these all-stars gacha team combat games. You'd start with one character, and the more you play the more points you earn toward playing the gacha to earn additional characters. All the characters would be a bit different, such as Akira being close-range physical combat, Raika being a long-range pistoleer, Cala being part combat and part magic, Karin being entirely cheerleader support, etc. The better your team, the better missions you can undertake to earn more points toward better gacha results. Missions would be things like saving the town in Alitalia or infiltrating the alien spaceship. Donarghe monsters and other underlings would be your typical grunts, with major story bosses reprising role as mission bosses.
Its gacha. Its a shortened form of gachapon, which means machine-vended capsule toy, typically inferring a random choice of toy from a generally fully-collectable set: but if you want the whole set you have to "play the game" multiple times. Baseball and trading card game sets are similar gachas (or were before box sets gave you the full set in one purchase.) Mario Kart Tour has a gacha mechanic to get new characters and karts. Its a popular mechanic for mobile games because you either get people to play an awful lot (and thus sell a lot of ad looks) or they fork over real world money to get the character or vehicle they really want. If you played Xenoblade Chronicles 2 it also has a gacha mechanic in which Blade character you get from each crystal, but no real world money way to forcefully get the ones you want. (Though NSO save state control can properly cheat the system.) Pokemon games are not gachas (though may have a gacha minigame) because there is no randomness in the selection despite having a collectible set.I don't have a full story developed, just sort of mission ideas based on what they did in their game(s). For example, Akira's missions would be to go beat up bad guys in the underground caves or abord the alien spaceship. Raika would do infiltrate the criminal underworld and have some detective puzzle solving along the way. Cala would fight monsters in the country side. Would probably have to have some different goals int he "beat up bad guys" missions, such as one type being beating a big boss, another reaching a specific grunt enemy count to clear, and a third being able to defeat a certain number of baddies before time runs out.
