Iron Man movie!

Going to go see it tomorrow evening with my brothers, and will be posting about the experience here. In order not to spoil anything, I will be using the under-used, yet oh-so-useful, spoiler tags. I'll ask that any other users discussing the movie to please do the same, so as not to ruin it for anyone who might not get to see it. However, after a week and a half, all bets are off and the spoiler tags will no longer be required, so try to see it before then!

Is it bad that I'm more excited about Jim Rhodes/War Machine than I am about Iron Man? >.> HERE'S MY SUNDAY'S BEST!

I played the Iron Man demo the day before it was released in theatres.  I'll just say one thing about the demo:  definitely should have watched the movie first, because it's left a very bad taste in my mouth.

This is, quite simply, the best Marvel movie ever made. Yes, it's better than all the Spidey and X-Men films put together. I am not kidding.

Best part: No Nick Fury! This rules because Samuel L. Jackson was rumored to play him, and I am currently very burnt out on Sam Jackson. S.H.I.E.L.D. did have a presence however, and it was a very welcome one. The villain was a HUGE twist! Not at all what I expected.

Every actor and actress played their parts very well. Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow couldn't have been better cast. I...yes. I am officially in spastic fangasm mode. Going to go wander away and try to sleep. Now that I've had all my fun for the weekend, I gotta hit the finals.

Had to leave the theater before the credits finished, or else fail at getting enough sleep to work all day today. However, I will amend my above statement to: I'm glad he wasn't in the two or so hours before the credits. =P

Its really not that bad, when you consider that Ultimate Nick Fury was modeled after Samuel L. Jackson, Nick Fury represents the perfect hero against a backdrop of paranoia. 616 Fury? Nazi paranoia, Punisher MAX? Vietnam era paranoia. Ultimate Fury? That would be post 9/11 paranoia.

So you can actually see how the character and the actor choice coincide, I assume you're more of a super power kind of a guy Jason - I'm more of a fan of Batman, The Punisher, etc. So maybe you didn't even know about the different Furies? Irrelevant, just kind of explaining why Jackson was most likely chosen. Ignore any rants about them making Fury black to appease balance of race or whatever.

When I unlocked him in Marvel Ultimate Alliance I never used him with the Sam J. skin.  Classic > ultimate

I loved Iron Man! It's his character. Smart and sexy (and I say that as a heterosexual male who comfortable with his sexuality but has to point it out when its questioned... said too much).

And the Ultimates rock. It's has much greater purpose then the original Avengers plus it's a cool story. With Incredible Hulk and Iron Man complete and Giant Man, Thor, and Captain America on the way I just hope I live long enough to see it.
