Uuuhhh..FF8 was better? 8D
I agree. But thats for another thread.
Enix releases Dragon Quest (Dragon Warrior). A year later, Square one-ups them with Final Fantasy. Point for Square.Enix follows with the much better DQ2. Square first learns how to waste talent and money with the abysmal FF2. Point for Enix.Enix brings us a solid but not great DQ3. Square does better with FF3 but can't recapture the magic of FF1. Point for Enix.Enix raises the bar with the absolutely exceptional DQ4. Square digs out of their hole with the equally impressive FF4. Draw.Enix disappears from the international market (releasing DQ5 and DQ6 along the way) while Square rolls out consecutive winners in FF5, Secret of Mana, FF6, and Chrono Trigger. Point for Square.Enix still languishes in relative obscurity while Square drops FF7. RPG newbies are awed while veterans are just aww. Enix faults.Enix still MIA when Square pushes out FF8. Enix double faults. Undeserved point for Square.Square and Enix merge into SquareEnix about this time.Enix-side finally gets back in the US market with DQ7, but parent company blows it by releasing FF9 within 10 days. I can't give a point for bad management.Nothing happens on the former Enix front while Square brings along FF10 (plus one point), FF11 (minus one point), and FF10-2 (no points)Enix side finally finds a winner in DQ8 while Square missteps again with FF12. Point for the Enix-brand.
And you forgot about Star Ocean, its Enix who made them right?
