That's why I love (most of) Treasure's shooters. Each one has something out of whack from the mainstream (of Gradius and R-type), yet neat and refined in its own way. Most have something resembling a plot (Ikaruga and its enlightenment ideas) or a real plot (Radiant Silvergun and its ideas of perpetual ignorance but hopeful future), but that sure as hell doesn't get in the way of the gameplay.

It's quite simple. See, Excel Saga is from 1999 and 2000, right? That means that Takon died then. But with the universe rebooting after the events of Infinite Crisis, you know, the merging of all different Earths, Takon was revived and brought back in continuity, but strangely, still maintains memories of the original Earth.

That means that the forum is not haunted. It is merely inhabited by a superhero that goes by the name of Takon. Simple, no?
