I didn't finish the first one. I won't be playing this one.

Now that I think about it, most tactical RPGs like this eventually get to the point of being almost a chore. I've only ever finished one of them, and that was ages ago, on PS1. Usually I just watch someone else play it.

I bought this game for several crap games and 5 bucks three days ago. Totally worth it.

Troops thus far:

Kiinan the Fighter
Kerushii the Lady Fighter
Tetsaru the Ronin
Yuriko the Kunoichi
Ryuzaki, Fuuji and Tokiya the Elemental Skulls (Red, Green, Blue)
Kurenai, Midori and Hyoumonkou the Elemental Mages (Red, Green and Blue)
Jayce the Gunner
Yuki the Healer
Zodiac the Petite Orc
Yorbein the Prinny
Mifuyu the Magic Knight
Chiharu the Archer
Manji the Heavy Knight
Sheila the Thief
Angel the Beast Tamer
Jonusu the Genin

And there WILL be more troops, the majority of which will be named after people from this ol' board or my story dudes.

The money I set aside for Disgaea 2 will instead be going towards paying for the site's hosting fees, so from here on out, please make topics as entertaining as Disgaea 2, for my sake. xD

In other news, Nippon Ichi makes digital illustration CDs for all of their games.  Some images from the Disgaea 2 one made their way into this gallery:

http://www.kawaiidream.net/categories.php?cat_id=857&sessionid=b368946c128cf9b6bb13772d7cf2af40

They also make official manga for their games too.  I'll probably hunt down the Disgaea 2 one, that is, after I get my hands on the Makai Kingdom manga.

Med said that Adell and Rozalin don't have the chemistry that Laharl and Etna had.  For those who have played it, tell us your thoughts(Well no shit, isn't that the point of the topic?) be sure to use the spoiler tag where applicable.

I think I'll name each of my characters 'Autoparts'. =D

Just don't list them. Remember, lists suck.

Well hold on there ROMate.  We haven't seen a list in what, a month?  Maybe it's time for them to make a comeback, like Alf.

If there's a character type called "God" be sure to title him Centurion.

Tetsaru the Ronin

i am honored to see that you have named one of your characters after me.  +1 rep, man!  >=D

my friend has the first Disgaea, and he recently got Disgaea 2.  it looks pretty fun - i'd like to get a copy of it eventually.  oh, to have several thousand dollars right now...  >_<;

There WAS a class called Lord in the game, but I always end up naming them Jesus and then ally-attacking with Totenkreuz. I think that's why they changed that class to Geomancer (too many people doing blasphemic stuff; hell, ask YTF and Will).

But still, I could name a geomancer after you then.

Well of course I'll name characters after my friends. Also, if you didn't notice, Jayce is a tip to Importgamer13. Remember how the character based off of him in his stories was always named Jayce.

And yeah, you've gotta get a hold of the game when you can, man. TOTALLY worth it.

Disgaea 2? Only if the level grind isn't as ridiculous as the first, or, for that matter, tactics games in general. The only tactics games I've encountered that have an acceptible grind are Front Mission 4 and the Shining Force games.

This is a true story. These are pretty much the details.

Yes, there was indeed a class called "Lord" in the game, which makes no sense at all considering that they were one of the "Scout" classes, which wielded guns and messed with Geo Panels.

I heard a gag or something on GameFAQs about people naming their Lord characters "Jesus" (as a probable result of that very name being in the name rotation for bad dudes).

I mention this to Bill one day while at his house with my copy of Disgaea.

He creates a Lord named "Jesus" (and not the Spanish version, methinks). This whole business gets more amusing when you realize he set the aptitude at "good-for-nothing". Immediately, he is thrown into a battle and ally-killed with a well-placed Totenkreuz.

I had to go, anyway, so shortly thereafter I left the house, with Bill seeing me out.

Bill turned out to be locked out of his house and had to re-enter through a window.

Civility is overrated, don't you think?

I'm still finding brand new copies of Disgaea 1 for sale in my town, considering no one here plays RPGs.  Sometimes I even go to the store and say hello to the copies behind the glass.  "Sup Disgaea 1, lol.  No one's bought you yet, though I do see your friends Madden and GTA have managed to find themselves a home.  Later man, I'm going to go buy some batteries. =D"

I hate you and your home town.  When I conquer the world, I shall nuke it.

The world, not your home town.  I mean, it'll get nuked to, you know, I mean it's ON the earth and stuff.

I have it. I finished it in a week in 45 hours. I don't have much to do.

I named my Heavy Knight Hyperguy, but he's seen next to no combat. All I do is have him throw Tink closer to the exit in the item world. I feel bad about this, but since it actually has plot characters (unlike Phantom Brave and Makai Kingdom, where plot characters were postgame characters), I'm using them more often than I'm using the generic humanoids. I still use them, though.
