It both succeeded wonderfully and failed miserably as the Japanese people, ignorant to the intended purpose of the group, loved it and more or less forced them to go on tour. Each concert was 2 hours of that same song, and all the lil crazy Japs loved it. The end.

Well, You know, the West has its own problems (The USA has lower social mobility than England of all places, the UK has the worst rich/poor disparity in the industrialized world, France's birthrate has been fucked since WWI, etc.), but I just feel the need to burst anyone's bubble when they say a particular culture is "superior". I'd go after anyone who said that France/Belgium/Russia/Egypt/Whatever is better than whoever else.

I agree with you on that part. I hate when any country has to attack another thinking that they may be better in anyway. Becuase the whole world has their fair share of problems. Which is why I love america as much as I hate it. We have a great country IMO but sadly have idiots who get a little TOO proud and represent us in the wrong ways, and make us look like bad guys.

on the japan note. I admit that they have some good shit in the creative department that I get envious of. But I wouldnt trade for it if it meant living their lives. I was aware of their rediculous social standards (although not as informed as I was till reading that post). But you cant let the bad blind you from the good. My brother lived their for 2 years and married a japanese woman. (and he was born and raised in PA =P ) and hes always going in and out. and yes he told me of the same problems you did but says for the most part they are nice people and it can be a very beutiful and happening place.

but yeah all countries have their problems and to say any country is better than another is just B.S.  Sure you say that they are better in movies and animes and story telling and art. But thats not to say Americans arent capable of the same things. America has some awsome movies and stories. You just have to learn to cut through all the crud to find the real good stuff.

I think that supernatural horror movies, with ghosts etc, are way scarier than "I'm ugly and i have a chainsaw" movies. Jason = Shit. I've watched some of his movies and they are all fucking stupid. Jason X made me laugh instead of feel scared. And those movies with zombies are equally bad, they are more action movies than horror.
