Personally, I liked Cloud.

Locke was no more the main character than Seltzer, Cyan, Edgar, or any of the other gents.  He has thus been summarily booted from the poll.  (If you were going to put a #2, it would have had to have been Celes.)

And why not include the other FF spin-off games?  Marche is certainly worthy of the honor.

I can't pick. I always liked the supporting cast way better than the main. Auron, Sabin, Steiner, Vivi, VII's Cid were all so much cooler than the main characters they accompanied.

Voted Cecil, great character with good plot development, I liked him.

i have to agree with Roommate here.  auron was DEFINITELY a badass, and vivi was just plain cool.  of course, we can't forget tifa...

i'm still playing ffIV advance right now, so i can't really say anything yet about cecil.  so, i guess i'll hafta default with cloud on this one.  =/
