I posted most of my SF characters in the Street Fighter Anthology thread (sorry if that was off-topic) but since there are other games I play this shouldn't be too redundant:

SFA3: Rolento, Chun-Li, Adon, Zangief for reasons described in that other thread.

SF3 3rd Strike: Dudley because his mid-range game is killer, plus he has some strong ways to harass an opponent that's getting up, most notably the overhead puch->super or 2xlow punch->super mixup, both of which can be easily hit-confirmed with a little practice. Very efficient and damaging EX Machinegun blow if you follow it up.

GGXX: Ky Kiske, Venom. Ky because he can keep the pressure on 100% of the time and has anti-air that can turn into a juggle. Venom just because I think that pool ball traps are neat.

Virtua Fighter 4 Evo: Kage, Jeffry, Lyon, Aoi, Brad, Goh (Can you tell that I like Virtua Fighter?) Kage is my first pick because on top of being fast he has very good throws and lots of tricky moves. Jeffry because throws in VF4 are great, plus he can set up some very nice striking attacks once he gets a bit of momentum. Lyon is evasive and has lots of stun moves and quick juggle starters. Aoi can play great mind games with her reversals, plus she has a lot of moves that punish crouching opponents. Brad is good at getting and keeping momentum. Goh is surprisingly fast for a grappler. His attacks don't do huge amounts of damage (for the most part) but are reliable and often have very useful properties, such as his low-punch-crushing shoulder ram.

King of Fighters '99: Kyo-1, True Kyo, Clark, King: Kyo-1 has the flame-punch DM. That's reason enough to use him, but being a main character clone his normal moves are pretty good too. True Kyo is a good all-rounder with tools for just about any situation. His two-punch DM can be slightly delayed for much better damage and still count as a combo. Clark is an SNK grappler, that should be all you need to know. King is just awesome. Her light Tornado Kick can be used for all sorts of things, from combo fodder to closing distance to punishing low moves. Her command throw has very good range. She can throw two fireballs at once. In Red Mode she can deal horrendous damage very easily. I actually think she's a bit overpowered in this game.

Tekken Tag: Ling+Lee is almost always my team, though it's been a long time since I've played this seriously. Lee's hitman stance is something I used a lot for its versatility. His infinity kicks are great if you stop after 3 or 4; if you hit the first two, then low, then mid, they often combo for very good damage. He also has some useful long-range moves. Ling is obviously very fast and has tricky stances.

I think that's about it. There's probably more, but that's all the important stuff.
Epic ninja maneuver: smoke bomb during windy day technique!
