DBZ Confession
« on: December 03, 2006, 01:42:32 pm »
Because the description told me to.

The first time I ever saw DBZ was early in my freshman year of high school. And by early, I mean I saw episode 1 on like the first day of school. I had trouble deciding a favorite character until Piccolo used the Special Beam Cannon; he's been my favorite hero since then. Raditz was my favorite villain for a long time, until I saw the Android 13 movie. Now, it's Android 13, Raditz, then the rest of the Androids in no particular order.

Bravery is better than a faint heart for a man seeking to put his nose out of doors. My fate and the number of my days has already been decided.

Man the first time I saw DBZ was around '96 when Toonami first went on air.  I enjoyed it, my favorite character was Piccolo and my favorite villian was Vegeta.  Now it's older Trunks (with the sword), Goku, Vegeta and Piccolo.

I admit I liked the show until suddenly every little green fag could wish for immortality. What, is there like 151 dragon balls now?

21. The original set from Earth, the set from Namek, and the Black Star set.

I have to admit, it was a simpler time when I enjoyed Dragon Ball Z.

Growing up, it was cool as shit. Theres no way you can deny it, that at 13-14 you were like "DBZ R00LZ"

It's like pro wrestling. It's just plain awesome. The thing is, DBZ has laser beams instead of signature grapples and submissions.

One character ruled my DBZ fandom. His name: Garlic Jr.

He's probably my friggin favorite character period on that show. Dont ask me why. It's probably because he's a midget that can kick your ass (and probably his own forehead).

Q:  How many DBZ characters does it take to screw in a light bulb?

A:  Just one...  but it takes 5 episodes.  XD

DBZ is good old-fashioned anime.  Sure, it pales in comparison to most stuff nowadays, but it's a classic series that should be remembered.  I've actually got a black DBZ t-shirt that I found at a Gadzooks store (right before they became an female-only apparel store) that I still wear to this day, right alongside my FLCL, Cowboy Bebop, and Amazing Nurse Nanako shirts.  Makes me wanna get some more stuff from Hot Topic, lol...

As far as my favorite character goes...  probably Vegeta, since he was always so arrogant and yet so similar to Goku in terms of skill.

I hate Vegeta because he always seems to make the situation they're in worse, and because of that, I like Piccolo better than I did initially because he usually makes things better. Vegeta provokes Frieza into transforming into a state that nobody can beat (until Piccolo shows up). Vegeta lets Android 20 activate Androids 16, 17, and 18 (Piccolo buys the Saiyans time to train up and beat them). Vegeta lets Cell absorb all the Androids (Piccolo helps distract Cell so Gohan can kill him). In the movies, Piccolo is also always helping because he either A: Stalls the main villain so everyone else can clean up the henchmen, or B: Cleans up the henchmen so Goku/Gohan can fight the main villain. Piccolo's always got a fast, efficient plan for ending their fights quickly (though it usually is spoiled by something).

I'll admit Vegeta gets better as the series progresses, but he'll never be high on my list of favorites.

I still like DBZ too.  Not as much as I did when I was younger, but it's definitely up there on the list.

DBZ was much cooler before I knew the outcome of all the Sagas. It no longer has that "O SHIT!!!" factor that got me hooked to it...

The good news is, the later episodes (and the redoes) didn't exactly butcher the story like the Saban versions did. Although the Nappa and Vegeta scene was classic in everyone's opinion.

For example, they changed HELL (Just Hell, it doesn't stand for anything.) to HFIL (Home For Infinite Losers). How low can you go?

Well, if they have go-karts, then why call it the home of infinite losers? Does nobody get first place, and they are all tied at last place? Usually King Emna (Or whoever his name is) takes first place, and so far, he's the only one that's ever won.

Hence the title.
