Here it is: the final iteration of my Miki film. The movie has been sprinkled with additional sounds and includes extended footage from Viper Paradice.

Extract the archive using 7zip. It's freeware.

Are you referring to the scene when she's in a towel or in a pink shirt? Really all i did was just reorder the original gifs to make the movie flow seamlessly.

Uploaded the movie in 100% quality in SWF format (check the original post).

Just remember this format greatly depends on your computer's processing power. Not for the feint of heart.

You sir, have made my day. SWF is one of the better ways to distribute movies of Viper gifs since it sacrifices less quality than converting to avi. True, the file size ends up being huge, but I think for higher quality it's worth it.

It's nice to know there are other quality enthusiasts out there besides moi.

I made the switch from gif to swf when i realized it had the same capability of looping animations without any sort of sacrifice in quality. The icing on the cake was the ability to implement sound, which blew my mind that i could actually represent these animations now as lengthy movies.

Yeah well the lack of SWF players and web browsers' continued lack of nested volume control combined with my dislike for FLV and its wildly inefficient lossless format... well...

All I'm trying to say is goddamnit just 'cuz you're using a shitty quality codec to encode a movie means you have to switch to flash. There's all sorts of alternatives.

And re: gif, if sound isn't that big of a deal for you, have you heard of mng at all? To this day I have not found any kind of editing application that can create it but then again I'm a consumer not a creator. The idea is still sound though.

How hard is it to reach for the volume button at the bottom taskbar?

I don't think there's anything better than H264 at the moment for video encoding. I suppose i could up the bitrate, but it'll require far too much tinkering to replicate 1:1 quality when it's already suitable enough for normal viewing purposes.

SWF allows me a quick-and-dirty 1:1 conversion and has easy retrieval of the original image and sound files embedded in the movie.

So just 'cuz a guy has two monitors and is almost constantly playing multiple video and audio files off his surround system means he has to lower the volume on his entire system just to control the volume of a single flash movie? >_>

If you really can't stand dragging that mouse cursor to the bottom then you ought to just download some desktop widget that will allow volume control.
