Yuppers. A few months ago you had to be a member and logged in in order to view images.

As a result, hundreds of people made lots of accounts, yet never used them to post in the forums. There were over 300 accounts with zero posts-mainly people who just created accounts because they wanted to see the pictures in the gallery.

I intially set it up so people had to be logged in to conserve bandwidth.

However, personally I hate having to log in to a site just to view pictures, so I considered how much that must suck and changed it back so that guests can now view images without needing an account.

If I switched it back it wouldn't affect the bandwidth, since people would just make another hundred accounts and use bandwidth up regardless.

I told you, make it so you had to have 5 or 10 posts before you can view the images. Thats not unreasonable. Plus we might get more discussion around here.

That never works. You're more likely to end up with an assload of spam from people who just want to see the naked anime ladies. People come here for the cartoon porn first and foremost, not the discussion of it, and I doubt that's gonna change very quickly even with something like that.

It's official-our second bandwidth upgrade is in place. Please now enjoy 75 GIGABYTES of bandwidth to snack on every month.

We've got more than enough bandwidth now, so don't expect the site to go down anytime soon. The only thing that could counteract this newly upgraded amount is if we get twice, nay, three times as many visitors as we're getting now.

This acquistion opens up some interesting possibilities. While maybe we're not ready for something huge like 500 MB downloads, there's still plenty of bandwidth available to handle larger downloads than what's available in the gallery and elsewhere. The only thing left to do is see how things pan out from here and if we'll in fact need more bandwidth than what we now have, say it with me, loud and proud-75 Freakin' GIGABYTES OF BANDWIDTH PER MONTH!!

Yahoooo! The site gained a level! It's now powerful enough to tackle the secret dungeon! =D

Beyond that, I think this place just Fusion'd with some great power.

The new gifs are very welcome also, even though I've already seen / have most of the F40 gifs, I just like seeing "Everything Viper" here, at one place!

I'm with you on that one Echie. It's only a matter of time before HG.net becomes home to all existing Viper gif collections.

But, beyond that I wanna finish animating gifs for Viper games that don't have full gif sets, like Viper GTB and Viper RSR DVD edition. That way fans of the series will be able to check out some fresh material and won't have to perform so ten million searches to find it.[/

I'm definitely for that also. I've seen the same Viper gifs, and images for the past months / years, but once I found this place I've eventually seen new things (Viper RSR DVD special, etc). More new stuff is always welcome. XD

Advanced message board system implemented. Sorry if this comes a bit suddenly, but upgrading to this new forum system is something I've been wanting to do since I first created the forum. It'll take a little getting used to, but in the meantime take heart-this forum system has all of the features of the old system, all of the posts, avatars, and smileys of the old forum and with even more features.

I noticed a few minutes ago there was a major bug -- the main page was basically a "text-only" page. Was that due to the changes on the forum?

Oi, also I set my thing to "log in forever" but I always have to log in every time I visit the page. What gives?

Anybody figure out a way yet to make the text larger? 10 pt fonts are awfully small at 1280x1024 resolution.

And how about a way to mark all threads as read? I don't want to go through every thread again just to get rid of the NEW indicators...

Mark Read: When you hit the sub forum, the table with the Reply link should have a button with "Mark Read". It was the first thing I did, I was lost in the threads lol.

I'll say. It'd be a heck of a lot more convenient than having to retype 'hyperguy.net' into the address bar anything you need to get back to the main page.
