Then if Insects and Machines can't help each other, then what types DO help each other?

I faced a person with an Elemental/Destiny Hero deck, and I still PWNED him. He sometimes PWNED me because he used the anime effects and not the real one.

Warriors and Spellcasters have The A. Forces and Mysterious Guard, but that's about it...  so far, the Yugioh game isn't big on multi-type/attribute support, except for Chaos, which is now practically dead due to overpowered cards that are now banned...

Since all, if not most, of the Elemental/Destiny Heroes are Warrior, you could use stuff like Reinforcements of the Army and The Warrior Returning Alive, etc.  And even though most Elemental Hero decks suck, I'm surprised at all the Fusion support for them, which is where their strength lies.

Oh yeah - NEVER play Yugioh against anyone who thinks that the TCG is in anything like the anime.  Those kind of people are too young and/or stupid to be doing any competitive dueling.  Of course, I can't really do any competitive dueling either since I live in Arkansas and all the main tourneys are held in Little Rock, which is at least 80 miles from where I live...  >_<

I always liked spikes in MTG better than anything.
I dunno why, just one of my first booster decks and something about the lil' guys with a crapload of tokens littering the card table... gives me an odd sense of joy inside.

But eh, I dunno about mtg lately... getting kind of out of hand >_>

Hey anybody ever played the star wars card game?

I'd check the last twelve pages but I'm not retarded enough for that.
Used to play that around same time as mtg back in high school days.

One of my friends who got me into Magic loved token decks.  He used to keep a jar of coins around whenever he played just so he'd have enough tokens....  O_O

It seems that this new Planar Chaos set is throwing the color pie out the window...  I recently saw a red spinoff of Morphling, a green card-drawing spell, and a black Wrath of God...  kinda scary.

The Ravnica block was cool since it dealt with multiple colors, but this new set is making me wonder where the hell they're going with this.  I thought it was cool that they brought back some of the old stuff, though, like the Slivers and Akroma, Angel of Wrath.

And no, I haven't played the Star Wars card game, sorry.  All I play right now is Yugioh and Magic, and I've barely gotten into Heroclix, though I haven't played a good game yet since me and my friends were still trying to figure out all the rules.

I'm not sure if I should put in my insect deck, primarly because I didn't include Gokipon and Howling Insect or Flying Kamakiri in there. I hope I can support the Insect Queen by any means possible. I added two in there, plus a magician of faith.

The constantly-name-changing entity known as Bill and myself, at the very least around here.   Though I haven't played for some 9 or 10 years.

Be wary of putting too many tribute monsters in your deck too, as they can easily become dead draws.  If a tribute monster is the main focus of your deck, make sure you have plenty of support to help get it onto the field.  If you don't have the proper support, I'd suggest adopting a theme that you've got plenty of cards for, or you could always try to buy the cards you need online or something.  The structure decks (such as Warrior's Triumph) are a relatively cheap and easy way to get "staple" cards, such as Lightning Vortex.

If you've got a decklist, I'll be glad to offer some suggestions.  It would also help if you told me where you're wanting to go with your deck in terms of strategy - beatdown, control, etc.

This just in - the spoiler list for the Planar Chaos series has been released!  Check it out:

Also, here's an article that helps explain some of the reasoning behind all the changes in the color pie with this set:

Here's the insect deck list.

MONSTERS:
Parasite Paracide
Saber Beetle
2 ManEater Bug
2 Needle Worm
Skull Mark Lady Bug
Bombardment Beetle
Four Starred Ladybug of Doom
2 Chainsaw Insect
Tribe Infecting Virus
Insect Princess
2 Doom Dozer
Empress Mantis
Magician of Faith
Insect Knight
2 Insect Queen
Pinch Hopper

SPELLS:
2 Ground Collapse
Jade Insect Whistle
Nobleman of Crossout
Monster Reborn
Dark Hole
Nobleman of Extermination
Swords of Revealing Light
Insect Imitation
The Shallow Grave
2 Giant Trunade
Gaia Power
2 Multiplication of Ants
2 Insect Barrier

TRAPS:
Negate Attack
Waboku
2 DNA Surgery
Rope of Life
Magic Drain
Shift

Hopefully this will support my bigger insects. I'm planning to do control, beatdown, and of course, messing up my opponent.

Here's the insect deck list.

One of the first things I noticed was the inclusion of Tribe Infecting Virus and a few other banned cards.  Are you trying to run Traditional or Advanced format?  If you're doing Traditional, you might as well put in several other cards that you otherwise couldn't use in Advanced...  but since you've only got a few of these cards, and since I've grown accustomed to playing in Advanced format (it just seems a lot more fair than Traditional - you don't run into as many "Bullshit" Chaos/Yata-Lock/One-Turn-KO decks), I'll try to adjust it in such a way.

I counted 45 cards...  not bad, but I'd still try to get it down to 40, so let's look at the different sections of your deck...

It looks like you've got 7 monsters that either require tributes or an alternate method of summoning - in other words, these monsters cannot be summoned immediately from your hand.  This can be fatal if you're in a topdecking situation (which is when your hand is empty and you're relying on the card you draw each turn to help you).  Since I know you were building around Insect Queen, we'll keep the two you already have.  As for the others, I'd suggest taking one Doom Dozer, the Saber Beetle (Chainsaw Insect has the same ATK and doesn't require a tribute), and the Empress Mantis (she's basically useless compared to your other monsters).  I would also take out the Bombardment Beetle (Man-Eater Bug essentially does the same thing, but is more reliable - just remember that you MUST destroy a monster when its effect is activated.  If your opponent doesn't have any monsters, you'll have to destroy one of your own!), both Needle Worms (it doesn't seem that milling, or deck destruction, is part of your strategy), the Skull-Mark Ladybug (life-gaining only tends to lead towards stalling, and you want to destroy your opponent!), the 4-Starred Ladybug of Doom (its effect is tempting, but rather situational.  Use your Spells and Traps, along with your Man-Eater Bugs for monster removal), the Insect Knight, and the Tribe-Infecting Virus (since it's banned).

- 1 Doom Dozer, Saber Beetle, Empress Mantis, Bombardment Beetle, 2 Needle Worm, Skull-Mark Ladybug, 4-Starred Ladybug of Doom, Insect Knight, Tribe-Infecting Virus

To replace these monsters, I highly recommend adding two more Pinch Hoppers.  Those guys will help you get your Insect Queens out onto the field with ease once you have them in your hand.  I'd also add two Parasite Paracides (for some combo purposes I'll discuss in detail later).  Even though I said not to earlier, put in three Gokipons.  Despite their creepy appearance, they will help fetch your flip-effect monsters (Parasite Paracide and Man-Eater Bug).  Normally, I'd say run three Howling Insects over Gokipon, but I've decided that they would not do as much good for your deck since the only monsters in your deck that would be searchable by them would be your flip-effect monsters, and they would need to be placed face-down in order to be of use - hence, putting them into your hand so you can set them.  A Sangan will also help with this.  Add in another Insect Princess and one Mobius the Frost Monarch (again, I'll explain later).  Finally, add in two Prickle Fairies.  They'll provide some defense and will stall your opponent.

+ 2 Pinch Hopper, 3 Gokipon, Sangan, 2 Parasite Paracide, 1 Insect Princess, Mobius the Frost Monarch, 2 Prickle Fairy

Now, for your spells.  Take out the two Ground Collapses, the Jade Insect Whistle (when using Parasite Paracide's effect, just put him on top of the deck when you shuffle it instead of using this - as far as I know, it's legal cheating!  =D), Monster Reborn, Dark Hole, Nobleman of Extermination, The Shallow Grave, and Gaia Power.

- 2 Ground Collapse, Jade Insect Whistle, Monster Reborn, Dark Hole, Nobleman of Extermination, The Shallow Grave, Gaia Power

Add in the following:

+ Mystical Space Typhoon, Premature Burial, Pot of Avarice, Lightning Vortex, 2 Creature Swap, Scapegoat, 2 Magical Mallet

For the traps, I suggest completely re-doing them:

- Negate Attack, Waboku, 2 DNA Surgery, Rope of Life, Magic Drain, Shift

+ Magic Cylinder, Ring of Destruction, Ultimate Offering, Call of the Haunted, Mirror Force (or Sakuretsu Armor), Dust Tornado

The new decklist (hope I got it right):

MONSTERS (23):

2 Insect Queen
2 Insect Princess
1 Doom Dozer
1 Mobius the Frost Monarch
3 Pinch Hopper
3 Gokipon
3 Parasite Paracide
2 Man-Eater Bug
2 Chainsaw Insect
2 Prickle Fairy
1 Sangan
1 Magician of Faith

SPELLS (16):

1 Mystical Space Typhoon
1 Premature Burial
1 Pot of Avarice
1 Lightning Vortex
2 Creature Swap
2 Giant Trunade
1 Scapegoat
2 Magical Mallet
1 Insect Imitation
2 Multiplication of Ants
2 Insect Barrier

TRAPS (6):

1 Magic Cylinder
1 Ring of Destruction
1 Ultimate Offering
1 Call of the Haunted
1 Mirror Force/Sakuretsu Armor
1 Dust Tornado

TOTAL:  45

Hmm, I didn't get it any smaller...  oh well, I'll let you toy with it.  Here's the strategy:

Use Gokipon and Pinch Hopper to search out your Parasite Paracides, Insect Queens, and Insect Princesses (the Insect Princesses and Mobius will give you a few good Level 6 monsters to use Insect Imitation with).  Let your opponent pull Parasite Paracide and turn all of his/her monsters into Insects.  Then, use Insect Barrier and Swords of Revealing Light to keep them from attacking.  Meanwhile, Insect Princess will force them into Attack Position anyway, so you can wail away at them and buff her up.  You can also use Creature Swap to give your opponent your weaker token monsters and used flip effect monsters.  Ultimate Offering will help give you more monsters to tribute, if necessary.

Hope this helps you!  (damn, that was a long post...)  ^_^;

Thanks Tetsaru! Now I'm not sure if I should do a Barrel Dragon next, cause that's one of the greatest cards ever known. You got an idea for a deck list, cause I got one that's pretty much around both Barrel, Blowback, and Gatling.

A Machine deck should be fun to make, although there are tons of different ways to go with it (VWXYZ-monsters/fusions, the Ancient Gear monsters, Cyber Dragon monsters/fusions, the upcoming Gadgets, the 'Roids).  I'll try to come up with something later - that last deck analysis along with some long band rehearsals and homework I had to do currently has my brain numbed right now...  O_O

Well homework has gotten me down as well. Well I hope you feel better Tetsaru! Oh, and thanks again for the advice on how to construct my deck. Hopefully I can post a fiend deck if you prefer.

Post away, my good man.  It'll probably be a whie before I get to them, though - I think my aunt had a birthday party planned for me, and I've got several more assignments and upcoming tests to worry about...  >_<;

Yes, and the textbooks in my area are long gone for some strange reason. Well as soon as I can get some free time, I'm going to post my Dark World deck, and possibly a deck revolving around Barrel and Blowback Dragons.

And the show, Yu-Gi-Oh GX inspires me to write a GX Fanfiction. But I'm still trying to figure out what it should be about. Should I post it in the Writer's Block, or this thread?

I don't see how Yu-Gi-Oh shows could inspire anyone to do anything but want to drink a quart of Bleach with a Chaser.

Seriously

Oh, and while we're on the subject, I am currently building some decks that use mostly the Kamigawa block, and I usually use Samurais, Demons and Ogres. Do you fellas have any ideas on what I should include in my Kamigawa decks?

I once made a halfway-decent Ninja deck, but I took it apart since I didn't own any of the good ninja cards, like Ink-Eyes...  =/  Basically, it involved a lot of blue and black creatures that either had flying, fear, or were unblockable, which could easily trigger the Ninjutsu abilities of the ninjas.

I don't see how Yu-Gi-Oh shows could inspire anyone to do anything but want to drink a quart of Bleach with a Chaser.

Seriously

Yeah... it sucks that stuff like Yugioh and Pokemon are actually really cool games, but the animes suck ass.  =/

I found a new promo that might fit in with your new Insect deck, LordRyunson.  Not sure what game it's from, though...

Well the card is from Spirit Summoner for the DS... I think that card could work, provided I have the sleeves for it.

Hey, it's got an awesome effect, why not??  Besides, you could use a Pinch Hopper to summon it.  If I were you, I'd definitely run one.  More than one might be troublesome with the other tribute monsters you've already got.  You might could take out some of the cards you don't like and run some more copies of Insect Imitation to use for him and your Insect Queens, provided you have a good amount of Level 6 monsters to use as tributes.  Just be wary of running too many tribute monsters, and keep your deck size as close to 40 as you can.

As for the sleeves, you should always have a good supply of em, especially if you make multiple decks (you can color-code your decks with different colors, like blue sleeves for a water deck and green ones for an insect deck) or if you go to a lot of tournaments (worn sleeves are often seen as "marked cards," which is a no-no).  Sleeves and deck boxes aren't that expensive, so I'm sure you can get yourself some more.  UltraPro's stuff usually works well for me, and you can usually find them in the same areas where the cards are located in stores like Wal-Mart, etc.
