Title: Fave Rumiko Takahashi series?
Post by: importgamer13 on August 23, 2006, 10:35:22 am
Rumiko has made some interesting series in her time, with many interesting characters.
Weather it's a drama like Maison Ikkoku,or comedy martial arts like Ranma 1/2,you may pick 2 choices.Which two do you like the most?Feel free to share some thoughts, too.

My two picks were Ranma 1/2 and Maison Ikkoku.

Ranma 1/2 is the title that got me into anime, big time. After seeing an ad for the SNES Ranma Hard Battle and a review,i picked the game up the day it came out and i was hooked.I began picking up the manga, and they anime was released in the USA shortly after.Ranma 1/2 really nailed me,with it's fight sequences, the sense of humor, and it's wacky characters, such as the Kuno family,Happosai,Gosunkugi the voodoo boy,and of course,Ranma's multilpe girlfriends...lol

Maison Ikkoku is an odd one...i checked it out due to an ad in a Ranma 1/2 issue, and i liked the characters alot.Between girls like Kyoko,Kozue and Akemi, and other oddballs like the pervert Mr. Yatsuya, the series had it's funny moments, but dramatic moments also.An interesting title.

Ranma. 4 years ago I'd have said Inu-Yasha, but it's been kinda ruined. Except the Thunder Brothers. Thunder Brothers 4 lyfe.

Ranma and Uresei Yatsura.

I hate Inuyasha, it's DBZ for chicks.

As I've only seen Ranma and Inuyasha, I will have to go with Ranma.  Inuyasha needs to have its plot move faster at times.

I also enjoy Ranma, and even got a few DVDs of it. Even though I haven't seen enough episodes, I do get an idea on what it's about.

I think I like Shampoo more than all of the Ranma 1/2 characters combined.  She helped pave the way for other Chinese fighting lady stereotypes, like Jam Kuradoberi's overuse of the phrase 'aru'.

Strangely enough, I saw Chun Li before I even seen Shampoo or Jam. One of these days, there ought to be a poll about that.

Ranma 1/2 and Inu Yasha are the only ones I've really took notice of.  A friend of mine got me into Ranma and I discovered Inu Yasha on mine own.
