Hello.. I am just wondering if people can give me a website telling me about Viper GT1  or some pictures..

Is it after or before GTB After?

Viper GT1 takes place after Viper GTB.  In it you play as a waiter at Akira's Anne Millers restuarant and have a chance at scoring with the girls of Viper GTB.  It has lots of cameos from other Viper characters too.  I'll post some screen shots in a bit.

If I remember correctly, the game states an exact number of months between the events of GTB and GT1; it's either six or eight.  Amazing, but after 4+ years (add on 3 years and 9 months for the difference between Rise and Rise After) the girls haven't aged a day.

Four girls are available in GT1. There's five or six ways to get Akira, and one each for Karin, Makoto, and Narsha (of whom HG neglected to post a picture!!)  To get them, you generally have to prove you're a strong, honest man to Akira; simply show interest an concern towards Karin; trick Makoto into thinking you'll spread naked pictures of her all over the web, or just say yes to the promiscuous Narsha.  There is a male love interest you can chase after (the manager, Aoki) but thankfully no H-scene with him.

Cameos include Ruri from Magical Gambler Totocal Chomi (V12/BTR), Alphina from The Devil Comes (V6/GTS), the Mysterious Man of the Green Leaves from Green Boy (M1), and a few of the Donarghe monsters from the Bravan series (V12/F50).  Plus the requisite Rise characters: Saki, Seed, Kiese, Irear, Tarma, and a pair of Seed's underlings.

Each girl has a different movie which you see when you go on a date with them. With Akira you see Blade, with Makoto I think its Dirty Harry, and I haven't the foggiest what movie Karin likes. Maybe HG recognizes them better than I do.

MrGrim: You need to run GT1 in Japanese regional mode. The text is Shift-JIS encoded and running Windows in English regional mode shows the text as garbage. (Obviously, this requires 2000 or XP.)  This same problem exists on the Island games as well.

Now I just come off as a whiner but the tutorial doesn't work for Windows XP, at least the last step doesn't appear to. I do have a language bar now and that's nice, but no mIRC.

Too many superfluous details on that tutorial...
Go to Control Panel, Regional Options.
Change Locale to Japanese.
Change the Default Language Settings for System to Japanese as well.
Make sure the system can, at the very least, read code pages 932, 65000 and 65001. (These are probably already checked by default when Japanese is selected.)
Click Apply, wait for machine to reboot and enjoy Japanese games.

You dont need to mess with IME settings or the Language bar.

MrGrim: If you have Windows 2000, post the screenshots from the instructions I gave you so I can see what's going on and try to help.

Sorrowful: GT1 is practically non-existant these days. It requires alot of Japanese to play and it doesnt support save files or a gallery to view the scenes. Its only saving grace is that the wonderful pictures can be dissected with Grapholic.  With a few tricks, I've been able to extract most of the text as well - I'm kind of working on a translated script (among other things), but I imagine I haven't gotten past 5-10% of the text so far.

Grapholic can decode the GT1 .dxr files without any effort. I don't believe an extra plug-in is required.

Interesting facts uncovered during day 1 of my GT1 scripting work, whihc is about 15% done now (all the opening script is complete up to the first save point):

Akira & Karin have been friends since they went to school together.

Akira dislikes people who use vulgarities.

Karin does not drink alcohol.

Makoto is a heavy drinker and gulps it down a stiff pace.  She claims alcohol has medicinal values though.

The Rise girls live in Tokyo. Makoto used to live in Osaka, for about 20 years.

Makoto is looking after her uncles dojo in Tokyo now, making 20000 yen a month. Paired with her waitress job, she makes more than the others but doesnt have much free time, and hasnt been back to Osaka to see her family since moving to Tokyo.

Makoto is training hard to soundly beat Akira in next years contest.

About 30% done scripting. Macromedia Director MX is making this much easier once I got it to display Shift-JIS properly.

Day #2 knowledge nuggets:

Makoto's dojo is currently offering a 20% discount.

Akira's punch will knock you out for 10 hours. (that must really hurt) As a good sport, she might take you back to her apartment to recuperate.  Makoto might take you to her dojo instead, which in turn gives you the key choice to unlocking her ending (take a short bath instead of a long one and you will get her ending)

Makoto follows pro-wrestling and asks around to find out what happened if she misses a show.

Akira's been working at Anne Mitter's for about five years.

Tarma can't make human women pregnant. (Actually, this is pointed out in GTB, too, so its not really new information, but it goes toward explaining why Makoto wants to do it with him.)

Makoto's favorite position is doggystyle.

Makoto doesn't know a thing about computers (which is how you take advantage of her and get her ending in GT1)

About 43% done.

Most of tonight's work was spent resolving the minor random events. I've confirmed that no minor random event will repeat, but major random events can if no choice is made to impact the story (I got decked by Akira three times and woke up in Makoto's dojo each time, but it repeated by choosing to take a long bath instead of a short one, see above post for more)

As such I only have a few new nuggets for tonight:

Romance films are Karin's favorite genre.

Akira seriously plays hard to get. You've got to call her like six or three times before she'll agree. Maybe that I hadn't built up stats enough though first.

You do absoletely nothing to stop Ruri from stealing everything on the table. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. You notice the table settings have disappeared and her blouse is all bumpy now, but you don't put two and two together.  Good thing the waitresses (and the manager) aren't around to see you blow that one.

55% done now. I've got almost all the at-work random events figured out, which is the key to getting to go on the dates. I have 3 or 4 than I've only scripted two of the three events for, one more month cycle and I'll get them cleared away, too. About 75% done on the phone call events, now that I've figured out that half of them are the invitations to a date.

More goodies:

Your family owns Anne Mitter's. Maybe not the chain (if there is one), but at least the store our girls work at. Its been known Anne Mitter's is called a "famiri-resu" (family restaurant), but it turns out that it's your family's, not just a classification.

Narsha hangs out at the game center.

Anne Mitter's is closed on Sundays. Its not just a coincidence everyone gets the day off on Sundays...

Tarma nearly passes out on the rollercoaster.

Karin doesn't want to go in the haunted house but Akira convinces her it won't be that scary.  Then again, Akira ends up screaming in the haunted house, too.  But then the ghosts scream louder when Makoto starts beating them up. (Classic Sogna humor...)

63% done. All random events mapped out. All that remains is the events that require a sequence of choices (ie, make one girl happy while making another girl mad at you)  I can get all four sex scenes with proper choices, but finding out what combination of bad choices leads to what is going to be more work.

Pretty sure your stats have no bearing on the normal events and endings.  I think they're only used to determine who comforts you at the end of the month when Akira turns you down.  I'm guessing if strength is your highest score, Makoto comforts you, if intelligence then Karin will, and if beauty than Aoki will.

Thus said, all you need to do is get Akira to normal face on the calendar/status screen at night (probably takes 3 or 4 good answers to her questions, plus one more for each wrong answer), then make phone calls at your house instead of training. If you go out on all four dates, the girl you scored highest with (and Akira in a tie) will go out with you on the 28th. I got Akira with the same 50 for strength, intelligence, and beauty that you start with.

On to tonight's tidbits:

Karin is practically blind without her glasses on, but she thinks they make her unattractive.

Karin doesn't know how to swim. Why the GT1 authors put this in there, I'll never know. She swims just fine during the escape in GTB.  It would be more believable if she merely didn't like to or was afraid to swim because of what happened in GTB.

Akira is afraid of becoming fat if she ate too much.  Thus, she doesn't eat much.

Akira likes black tea.

Karin likes green tea.

85% done now. I beleive I've gotten everything except the ending where Akira messes you up for moving too fast. That makes up may 2% fo the remaining.  I think the remaining 13% is garbage. Text chunks left over in the director files when they copied one file to make another or the same text reworded elsewhere in the same or a different file.

I've also cracked the save file format well enough to know what most of the fields are for.

New info today:

Makoto's dojo has no weights. She brings her students to the local gym for weight training. (As she puts it, a dojo is for moral training.)

Akira's favorite films are action flicks.

Makoto's favorite films are horror flicks.

Makoto likes banana juice.

Alphina does not tolerate the misconception that summoning a demon will grant you three wishes like a genie will.  You get one and only one with him.

Akira lives on the second floor, in the middle of the hall, in a building near a shopping center.

Akira's black tea is apple flavored.

I've basically got all the text work done that I think is possible. Everything left over is either unreachable text of some form or I just dont know what combinations of choices fold into the game.
In the future I plan to examine how each choice affects the five relationship scores. I've already determined three are for Akira, and one each for Karin and Makoto.

Just wondering if I should save my time from downloading a torrent. The gifs from G1 were something new to me, so I'm just not sure if I've seen the CG's.

There is a GT1 Fan Dish that features the scenes, but good luck finding one.

So let me get this straight. This game doesn't support any save files(hell no wonder this is and one other game are the ones i can't find save files on) and it doesn't have any type of gallery playback mode with its movies either? damn that sucks. So is there no way to save movies from the game or do i just get to watch them once and have to play the game over to watch them again.

There is too a save function; when you save in your room at night the game spits out a very small file named gt1.dxr (actually a flat text file.) And to prove it, if you open up that file and modify it with this data, you'll get to view Akira's ending.

really? well I would try that but I didn't get that far in the game. since there's a lot of decision making, and since I don't understand jap, I don't know what im deciding, and there is no walkthrough,save, or anything of use on that game. I guess its the game no one played or cared about, sucks but oh well viper life moves on i guess

holy shit that is awesome, I quit trying to play it but the planets just went out of alignment and I just started messing with GT1. anyways, its annoying cause it seems you can only save once and  not before anything important for some reason but I used that code you put up there and i did get her ending!

do you think you could post up the codes for the other endings you got, or a least makoto's thats the one I want to see the most

Makoto and Narsha's takes some luck.
For Makoto, you need to get knocked out during the argument between Akira and Makoto (this is a random event but it can happen up to twice during the month.)  Choose to take a short shower (I forget if this is first or second choice), watch Tarma and her get it on, then you blackmail her witht he pictures you took of her.  Keep in mind that Makoto's ending is a bad ending. (The only happy endings are Akira and Karin.)
For Narsha, just keep showing up at the game center.  When she "solicits" you, go with her to the love hotel.  She's the easiest to get, but if you do you've blown your shot with the others and will finish the month with a rejection no matter how well you did otherwise.  I suppose you could get Narsha and then blackmail Makoto though, but thats still heading down a bad ending path.

Don't ask how one gets the manager, Aoki.  I couldn't give a damn.

You might notice a pattern in the gt1 save file based on the codes I've shared here. I'll share what I know, but its got big holes becuase I havent bothered ot play enough random weeks to find out what each number of the save file is meant for.  The carraige returns are added for readibility, obviously the real save file is a single line.

I have no clue what the fuck is happening in this game. everything is loosely based off reading what you said. like you said try taking a short shower, is that when i click on my house and spend the night there? like usually i just go to the construction site and I assume im working for the day. then i wait to see if i see one of the girls. Staying at your house is only useful for saving.  Its basically wasting a day for when you could be improving your scores.  As you've probably noticed, the part time jobs adjust your base scores and money.  They really don't affect things as much as you'd think.  As far as I can tell, they're only useful for turning the tides in your favor on the 30th, when you've only managed to get about 50% of the right choices in the random events. At 75-80% or higher, your base scores won't matter becuase they'll love you no mater what your scores.  Akira seems to likes well-rounded scores but beauty is most important to her and must not be lower than other scores.  Karin likes well-rounded but requires intelligence as highest score.  Makoto needs strength as highest score, but having high beauty probably doesn't hurt (I am quite sure intelligence doesn't mean a thing to her.)  Money never matters unless you run out, becuase then you've got to work to get more.  Stress is no matter so long as you keep it below 90.  If it gets hgher than 60 ot 70, go blow off steam in the arcade.

As far as the random events, thats exactly what they are, random.  And a LOT of them look exactly alike.  I can't really help you there.  You've got to be able to read a little bit of it to know what the girl (or Aoki) is talking about, so you know which of the 2 or 3 responses is correct.  Play it enough and try to note what the first line looks like, and the reaction each girl takes when you respond.  Usually the answers correspond to a blushing, smiling, and frowning/angry response.

When you get knocked out by Akira during her argument with Makoto (the screen goes fully black for a bit, so you can't miss it), and you come to with Makoto, she tells you she carried you from Anne Mitters to her dojo.  She suggests you take a shower at the dojo to recover.  When the choice comes up, one is for a short shower, the other is for long.  IN short, you'll see Makoto and Tarma get it on, in the long, you'll miss this scene and Makoto can't be won at all from then on.  Keep in mind, Makoto will carry you away only if you're chasing her (her scores are higher than the others) - otherwise, you might end up at Akira or Karin's apartments instead.

Did yall know you can view any scene from the game by opening it in Internet Explorer with Shockwave installed?
Except all the variables are set to zero.  Which means you get rejected in some scenes.  Or others are just plain inaccessible.

I just got this game and I cant hear any voices...yet in the data folder there are sound files of voices...how do I make it so I can hear them in the game?

Can't help ya there.  I've not been able to get voice either.
I think maybe you have to do a full install to get the voice to work.  Don't know - I always play it right from CD.

Good question.  I don't remember all of the details, but there should be an "Open with..." dialog when you right click on the dxr file.  From there, you choose internet explorer to open it.  If you have shockwave player installed, it should play normally.

In the GT1 image (mounted with Daemon) I see only a folder named 'Data', Autorun, GT1 ("Application [Macromedia Projector]", which has only OPEN and RUN AS...), and an HTML ReadMe file.

You have to visit your house after work instead of going to the gym, library, arcade, or the construction area.  So you have to give up the opprotunity to raise your stats that day in order to save.

Or crack the save file.  Here's my notes on it.  I only know what a few fields do, and only have speculations regarding the others, but this covers the really important ones.  (The [ and ] specifies arrays. You'll see what I mean if you edit the file.)
