Weather you like Megaman original,Megaman Battle Network,Megaman X,Megaman Zero or Megaman Legends,i wanted to see how many Megaman fans we have here.
Feel free to share your stories of what the first Megaman game was that you played, or share your Megaman collection!
(I got a few things to take care of,i'll post mine later tonight yet.)
-
well, i've never really played many of the megaman games (i always sucked at em), but my best friend is a huge megaman fan. while i grew up on sonic as a gamer, that's what HE grew up on. so, i guess you could say we both have our own "blue bomber," lol. i also have another friend who really likes zero, and he managed to find a playable english rom of one of the megaman zero games before it ever hit the shelves.
-
Original and Legends for the win. The first game I ever played was Megaman 3. It also was the first one I beat without cheating codes or devices. My all-time favorite Megaman title though has to be Legends. I like the story, I like the gameplay, and I love running around and getting lost in those underground ruins with nothing but the Vacuum arm and the standard buster. So much fun.

Well,i promised to reveal mine, and i will, then i'll tell about my first Megaman experiance. My list also includes my import Megaman games,i have a few...

MMBN 5 Double Team (DS)
My first experiance with Megaman was the NES Megaman 2.I've been a fan since then.Metalman is my fave american Wily robot. If i could also pick from the import games,my fave would be Buster Rod.G from Wily Tower.Even today,Megaman 2 is still my fave, weather i play it with upgraded music on the PS2 Anniversary Collection (You have to enable Navi Mode to get the remixed music effects for MM1-6...MM 1-3 use some of the arcade game music in some areas.),or if i'm playing Rockman 2 on Rockman Mega World,it's clear to me that Megaman 2/Rockman 2 will always be my fave.
My top five faves:
1. Megaman 2/Rockman 2
2. Megaman X3 (The X Collection version)
3. Wily Tower (On Rockman Mega World)
4. Megaman Battle Network 5 (all 3 versions)
5. Megaman 5 (Gameboy) (The Stardroids RULE!)

Yup, since the first game. I worked at MMXZ: TH and MMU until the admin disappeared on us. I hang at MMEraS now, and all of us old members are planning on rebuilding MMU. But... meh, I'm just so busy with school and work and stuff, I'll probably now be part of it.

I like Megaman games espically the BGM (capcom is the best at this part)

PS1:
Megaman X3 *The only Megaman game that I didn't finish because I coudn't beat the last boss :(

-
Yo. I grew up on the battle network games, but like playing the originals.
-
I've finished EVERY MegaMan game. Except for the 4 I haven't played, being Zero 2-4 and BN6 - Gregar / Faltzer
-
i'm doing okay on MMBN6 Gregar...just beat Slashman last night.Judgeman is next on my list...
-
Mega Man 2 > All other Mega Man games.
As impressive as MM was when it first came out, MM2 raised the ante even more. No other game had comparable graphics and sound for at least another year. It's clearly the best of the classic series and arguably one of the top ## games of all time (insert your own number)

I hear ya...I'm glad i have both Megaman 2 and Rockman 2.It's been a long time since Megaman 2,and to date,no other Megaman game has caught my attention like Megaman 2 still does.
-
MM2 was rough, but fun. I never could get Megaman over a Leaf Shield or through Air Shooter without taking damage.

Every now and then,i can jump one Leaf Shield or dodge an Air Tornado (On the import Genesis version),but more often than not,i'm hit every time...lol
-
Air Shooter was easier to deal with in MM3, when you could slide.
-
yup,sure was.
-
I totally agree, Mega Man 2 was my favourite. It had some of the most memorable bosses and stage music too!
-
MMBN 6 Gregar update...
They now have codes, but i'm doing fine without them,so i'm not using the codes. I took down Judgeman, and i'm going after Elementman next...i'm glad i'm able to get further in this one without ever having to use cheat devices, this game seems a bit easier than the past Battle Network games....maybe i'll make it to the end...?Here's hoping! ^_^

Mega Man fan right here.
Mega Man 2 was the first game I played. My cousin rented it a few times and I loved it.
I remember a copy of Nintendo Power feature a additional booklet inside that show a list of the complete (At the time.) NES library of games and I saw that there was infact, an original Mega Man game (My cousin and I were in debate if there actual was a Mega Man game.). I went out of my way to track that sucker down and managed to find a copy of one of the rarest NES games in my neighborhood. All this was before I ever knew about importing games. I've been hooked on the "Man" ever since.

I've never gotten good at them game or understand it but I still play it
noithing wrong with that at all,my friend.I have a bunch of japanese games(I've got about 37 japanese games, and 1 european game),and can barely read one or two words of japanese, but i don't let that keep me from enjoying my import games. Most of my import games i've beaten(some with multiple characters),and there's a few i haven't beaten yet,but i enjoy playing them anyways.
-
FUCK YOU QUICKMAN.
Second'd
I hated Megaman 2, probably for that. I don't know why everyone liked it, actually... haha... my favorite of the first three was the third (PROTOMAN FTW)
The only thing I liked about MM2 was Metalman.
I got 4 but I never got to finish it, and I stopped buying them from then on and just forgot about Megaman until 7 came out. I got into ROMs, played 5 and 6, went "bah" and just got 7. I finished 8, RnF, and all the X's.
Thumbs down at Legends. I didn't like it at all.

I'm not too big on Quickman either,(My fave is Metalman also),I didn't like Quickman's level that much, but i don't hate Megaman 2/Rockman 2 JUST because of one boss, that's kinda silly, honestly.
Megaman 3 was great,and Protoman's the goods. ^_^

Quickman's not too difficult, if you got the weapons for the job. Use Time Stopper (Or whatever Flashman's weapon is called) to weaken him, then use either the Normal Gun or Crash Bombs to finish him off. He's fast, but not very strong.
Don't be afraid to use energy tanks, cause at difficult... Yeah, he's fast and somewhat stronger in toughness.
As for Legends, yeah, I sort of frown at that one too, but for some reason unknown, Capcom made Tron and Servbot playable characters in Marvel Vs. Capcom 2.

I've beaten Quickman many times,he's not too difficult,he's just not my fave of the Megaman 2 robots. My 3 faves of Megaman 2 are...
1. Metalman
2. Crashman
3. Bubbleman
Yup,Flashman has the Time Stopper.Oddly enough,in Megaman 4,Brightman has the Flash Stopper...lol
-
It was his gorram stage that I hated the most. By the time you're done you're so low on Time Stopper you may as well not use it. =\
And I liked Legends. It was a far detour from standard Megaman play, but exploring the ruins and upgrading the buster was FUN.
-
Gorram.... There's a new one.
Although legends was kind of nice for a while, it might get confusing in the later levels. X7 tried the very same thing, but it sounded unplayable. I did beat the game and saved all the stupid reploids though.
-
Gorram is from Firefly. It's basically "goddamn", but friendly to censors.
-

Then why not go through Quickman's stage without using Time Stopper? :smalltran
(And yes, it IS possible.)
-
I never could do it. There'd always be one beam that'd clip the top of Megaman's head. But I've been close. So amazingly, gorgeously close.
-
You're obviously not hitting anyone with Sonic Speed then.
-

Bets i could do,is use the Time Stopper to clear the beams, and before entering Quickman's lair, kill enemies to refill Time Stopper. Then use Time Stopper,Crash Bombs and an E-Can to win. That's the only way I can do it,i suck at video games...lol

No no, it's not just the one boss. Sorry if it sounded like I said that... I haven't been sleeping well lately. Haha. Just... I can't explain it, but know it's not just for Quickman. I contradict my previous post. Haha.
-
Worse yet, in X5, they made homage to that annoying beam level in the first Sigma stage! Luckly, that Time Stopper-esque weapon solved that problem very quickly, and you can dash past them too!

They also used it in Megaman Network Transmission for Gamecube, because one of the bosses was Quickman...
I find i prefer alot of the earlier games in the original and X series.
I like Megaman 1-6 more than i do 7 or 8.Though i also like Rockboard,Battle and Chase,Mega World and Rockman and Forte/Megaman and Bass alot (I have both versions of it).Megaman 4 and 5 for Gameboy and Powered Up for PSP are pretty sweet also.
WIth Megaman X i like X1-4,Maverick Hunter X and Xtreme 1 and 2 more than i like X5-8.
-
As I said before, X4 was the best. They should've made an X4.5 on how they got transfered from working for Dr. Cain to Signas. They never tell us that story!
-
Man, you all can't get past the lasers?! Geez, I did it! In fact, I never get caught by them!

lol...i didn't say i could never get past them,i just said (for me personally)they're difficult, but not impossible.
