Not neccesarily in favorite order, but I like these fine folks for various reasons:
Link (Legend of Zelda)
Frog (Chrono Trigger)
Lloyd Irving (Tales of Symphonia)
Vyse of the Blue Rogues (Skies of Arcadia)
All determined and unwilling to give up even when everything goes to shit around them. What? You say I need some non-swordsmen, too? Ok, how about Palom & Porom from Final Fantasy IV then. Not only do they make the ultimate sacrifice, but their arguably the best comic duo in all of video game history. (Albeit honorable mention to the Mario Bros in Superstar Saga.)

WHo's your fave Street Fighter? Not neccesarily someone you play as the most, but maybe someone's fighting style or character you like alot.
Mine are:
1. Sakura
2. M.Bison
3. Makoto
4. Vega
5. Juli
My mom's two are:
1. Guile
2. Sakura
(my mom is alot more interested in video games than my dad is.Some of my mom's fave series are Resident Evil,Metal Gear,Dead or Alive,PSO,Star Wars,X-Men,Street Fighter,Ranma 1/2,Sailor Moon and a few of the Megaman games that feature Iceman.)
-
Dan(Z1), Sagat, Bison, and Alex(3rd Strike).
I always thought Dan was cool until they gave him a funny, constipated face in Z2, and when I read he was just a parody of Robert and Ryo from SNK. His moves required correct timing esp. those super combos. Didn't play much of Z2, and Z3.
-
Dudley, Alex, Sodom, Chun-Li, Cammy.
-
Gen from Street Fighter Alpha 3 is the character that I find the most interesting. I had intended to ake him one of my mian fighters, but the others just hedged him out. He's probably the deepest character in A3, and not just because of the stances (although that helps). He requires a different approach than the rest of the cast; his moves require the most precision and knowledge of the game system but there are great rewards for using him as well.
Gen has useful chain combos, good juggle starters and finishers, numerous height mixups, and an excellent air game. But not all at once. His sou-ryuu stance is mainly for quick assault assault with fast moves, a low, speedy jump, chain combos, and a very versatile dash super. His ki-ryuu stance is much trickier, with less raw power but more sneaky ways to get hits on the enemy. He also has a double jump-kick useful for mind games: am I going to use my second overhead jump kick, or quickly land and do a low move instead? There is, however, a bit of cross-over between the two. His Timer of Death fist (from sou-ryuu) is great for mind games once you land it, as its dizzy countdown forces the opponent to be aggressive and probably reckless. In addition, some of his ki-ryuu moves can combo into a super air grab for excellent damage.
What I like the most about Gen is that he has a lot of versatility but he isn't masher-friendly. You have to know your timing in order to get his chain combos and multi-hit juggling kick to work properly, and most of his ki-ryuu moves take some thought to use properly. In order to use him to his full ability one has to be able to know which stance to use at any given time and switch them fluidly throughout the match. Okay, after talking about him so much I feel like going back to practice his moves again. Later.
Edit: Apparently, the practice is sorely needed. Some of the details have been corrected.

lol...my dad only liked Space Invaders, the TMNT arcade games, and Simpsons Arcade...lol...my mom doesn't play video games, but she likes to watch at times.
She's a big fan of Solid Snake in particular. Some of mom's other faves are Jill from Res Evil,Iceman from the various Megaman games,a bunch of the DOA girls, she also likes Sailor Moon in my import Sailor Moon games,Genma Panda in the Ranma games, Wolverine in the Xmen games, and she likes one of my busty HUnewearls in PSO Plus and PSO 3.My friends think it's funny...most of them,it's their fathers that are into video games, with me,it's my mom who likes games more.
Getting back to Street Fighter,Akuma is a good choice, too. He is pretty powerful, and is always a challenging opponent for me,no matter who i'm playing as.
-
Dammit, I need to start playing Street Fighter games again.
-
Hehe, he was the first on the list eh ;)
Chun's 3rd Strike c.Str > Rose's c.Str
Hehe...
I used to like Sagat too, he was the br0ke'd!
-
In Alpha 2 though...damn that crouching Strong was just too good! It's more cr.MK for Chun in 3rd Strike though. Land one and it's free SA2 for her.
-
No doubt about that, haha. How many toury matches I've seen with spammed//whiffed//whatever'd cr.MKs, haha...
I was actually talking about range though, for Chun's crouching strong.
Haha, since we're on a Street Fighter subject... I moved away from the shotos and the Y brothers (Yun/Yang) and am starting to use Ibuki.
Try her out sometime... she's godlike if you're into pressure, haha... (jab->strong->fierce // b+strong->fierce // short->forward->roundhouse // cr.roundhouse->roundhouse etc... I find her chain normals more effective than her specials!)
-
She's got the most in the game. I actually tried to play her for a while, but she's too flimsy.
-
Gen was always my favorite. I mainly stuck with the Mantis stance unless I felt like showing off, in which case I'd switch to the other one(crane?). I also loved that delayed-dizzy super of his.
-
She's got the most in the game. I actually tried to play her for a while, but she's too flimsy.
Really? I thought it was Dudley...
Wait, you're right. I think Dudley's right after.
-
I used to like Sagat too, he was the br0ke'd!
Yup,Sagat was pretty powerful.
-
Regarding Chain Combos, Dudley might as well have zero chain combos the way I use him. Standing HK to EX Machine Gun Blow->follow up (or Jet Uppercut from a jump-in) is all I need for combos. Ibuki's ground chains, on the other hand, are useful because they can do things that would not be possible with the normal use of her normals/specials. C. HK-> s. HK can start a juggle or at least add damage to her sweep. her HK can also launch on its own but the sweep moves her forward causing the launch to trigger from an attack initiated further away. Back+MP-> HP-> Special is nice for basic damage and doesn't require you to be at point-blank range. Jumping HP-> f. MK is probably her best follow-up to her launcher.
Dudley's chain combos have to be started at point-blank range and tend to do less damage than his non-chain combos. Ibuki's are another matter. I'd use her more but she has some serious issues with reach, priority and damage that make me stay away from her most of the time.
-
You're scary.
-
You're scary.
BOOGA BOOGA BOOGA!
But seriously...me? Scary? How? Do I use too many question Marks?
-
It may just be the incredibly awesome sig.

-
I always like Vega when I was younger. He semind like a cross of Jason(Friday 13) & Wolverine.
-
Shit... errr.... FEI-LONG!!!!
-
Some of the ones i like are...
PSO Plus (Gamecube)
Star Wars Battlefront 2 (Xbox)
TMNT Arcade (TMNT2- Battle Nexus for Gamecube)
TMNT in Time (TMNT3- Mutant Nightmare for Gamecube)
Hunter The Reckoning (Gamecube)
Hunter The Reckoning- Redeemer (Xbox)
Rainbow Six 3- Black Arrow (Xbox)
...though on occassion,me and my pals bring out my NES and my 4 controllers and we fire up Nightmare on Elm Street....lol...we still enjoy that one alot yet.
-
007 Nightfire (Gamecube Version)
Swat 4 (PC)
Anything Guilty Gear but Isuka for 4 Player.
Dance Dance Revolution (It counts right? Multiplayer?)
-
Someone gone kick me for saying this but Ultima Online(Pc)
-
Probably the good ole smash bros melee and Mario Kart Double Dash.
And lets not forget Rivercity Ransom for NES.
-
I'm gonna agree with Cent on Mario Kart Double Dash, but not SSBM. I'm so burnt out on that game. Guilty Gear anything is awesome (even Isuka, but only in the side-scrolling mode), Metal Slug, The old school Sonic and Mario games, RO, PSO, and dammit if I'm not forgetting a few.
-
Mario Kart Double Dash
F-Zero X
Super Smash Bros (the original, Melee was not as good)
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Final Fight
Street Fighter 2 Turbo (way back in the days...)
I bet Four Swords Adventures would also rock, but I've not had an opprotunity to multiplayer than one.
Anyone up to try the new FlatOut 2 on internet multiplayer?
-
Ehh, UT2k4. That'sa ll I've been playing lately. though for all time, I dunno. I mean I guess the original N64 Goldeneye 'cuz that is goddamn classic. Ummm.... yeah I really dunno.
-
Super Smash Bros Melee is a good one,but my favorite would be Double Dragon 2 for the NES,that was a good one.
-
When i play alot of the import Sailor Moon games,i often play as my fave,Jupiter. In some of the games, that's not possible (In the first Gameboy game you can only play as Moon, and in Sailor Moon S for Gamegear you can only pick between Moon or Chibi-Moon),but for the most part,i play as Jupiter alot.
Other Soldiers i like to play as alot are Mars and Mercury, and in the fighting games,i also like to play as Uranus and Saturn. With the puzzle games,i play as Jupiter,Mars, Mercury,Uranus,Saturn and Sailor Starhealer.
I'm glad i was able to get the Sufami Turbo adaptor so i can play the Sailor Stars puzzle game on my SNES,it's one of the hardest of the Sailor Moon games to find.If it wasn't for Ebay,i doubt i would have been able to track Sailor Stars down.
