I found it interesting to find out,in a recent conversation,Philosipher lives only 15 miles away from YTF.So I was wondering, where does everyone live?I'm curious to see how far across the USA,or even the world,we all are.
Myself i'm in lower Wisconsin,USA. (Yeah, there's alot of cheese and cows here.)
-
I live in the shithole of Southwest Michigan, a place I desperately want to leave.
-
hey, that's only a state or three away, depending how you look at it.
-
i currently dwell in arkansas, the natural state, home of bill clinton and north america's only known diamond mine...
...as well as lots of hicks and rednecks who live in small towns, like i do. =/
oh well, at least jonesboro is flourishing pretty well - that's where i go to college (go ASU and what not, lol). we had a new mall open recently, and there's also a new bus transit system going around. there's a new dorm that i'll be staying in next semester on campus as well (and it's co-ed too, so i hear... >=D). another thing - word is, there are plans to build a convention center in the city as well, so MAYBE... just MAYBE... there will be anime conventions conveniently located near where i live (*crosses fingers*). for a city with only around 55,000 people or so, i'd say it's doing quite well.

I'm in southern Washington. Klickitat County. Or as I call it, Worthless-Redneck-With-Hubcaps-In-The-Garden Country.
I really hope to move out of here sometime.
-
Looks like I'm not the only Washingtonian!
-
Southeast Canada, Montreal Quebec.
-
I used to live in Seattle, and now I live in Minneapolis.
-
I live in Georgia, on the UWG campus.
-
I live in Southwest Michigan as well, two towns away from YTF.
With all due respect YTF, how dare you call this place a shithole?!
It's a FUCKING shithole :P
NOTE: Since it's relevant to the thread title...well...
My comp blew up in the recent storm, I managed to save most of the data (YAY), and I will be getting my new computer within a week or so, so I'm sorry again for the hiatus, but I swear to you I will be back and better than ever soon.
Possibly with DSL.

I live in Chattanooga, TN. It's a large city of about 150,000 sitting on the Georgia stateline, in the valley where the bend of the Tennesee River winds between Lookout and Signal mountains. Ever hear the old song, "Chattanooga Choo-Choo"? That's an actual place, by the way. If you're travelling through this part of the country, you see lots of signs for "See Rock City" and "See Ruby Falls" - those are both on (or in Ruby Falls case, in) Lookout Mountain. We're never threatened by major snowstorms, droughts, wildfires, hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, volcanos, or earthquakes - and do not understand why anyone would live so near to such disaster prone areas. The largest totally freshwater aquarium in the world used to be here, before it was recently expanded to include a saltwater building. The steepest inclined railway in the world still runs here. The White Castle of the South, Krystal, was invented and remains headquartered here. The now ubiquituous tow-truck was invented here, for which YTF's brother is undoubtedly thankful for our ingenuity. Coke was invented in Atlanta, but it was first bottled here, thus turning a mere curiousity into a world-wide phenom.
Suggestion to YTF and Will: Move South.
-
Suggestion to YTF and Phillosopher: The south doesn't have any anime stores. Move West.
I live in Boston Massachusetts.
-
If Philosopher is 15 minutes away from YTF then I am 45 minutes away from Philosopher. Then again I can be anywhere and everywhere in time and space *quickly jumps into the TARDIS*
-
if you all REALLY want to know, then set up one of these for hyperguy

but,if you and YTF ever make it down here,i'll introduce you to the local anime club i'm a member in...we get together and show various anime, there's a local anime store here in Milwaukee we get a discount at,plus an anime store in Menomenee Falls we get a discount at also.

true dat, arkansas has NO fucking anime-themed stores that i know of. i remember when my college's anime club went to midsouthcon in memphis, we stopped by a place called "animax". we must've spent 2 hours or so in there before heading to the con. my best friend bought himself a kickass keyblade necklace (from kingdom hearts), and i found myself a beautiful resin nanako figurine. her bow's broke, though... need to fix that. =/

Richmond, Virginia. Summer's too long and Winter's too short. It sucks shit.

Then switch places with me and move to MY shithole. I'll move to yours. You'll love the nearly year-round winter. Mind, I'll probably shoot you in the head if you so much as suggest a switchback, but such is the cost of progress for both of us.
-
michigan isn't that bad (although it sucks since mediaplay was bought out/shut down)
and i live farther north than you do YTF (bay county)
-
I had a chance to move out to Washington.
I have responsibiliies here though, so I won't just up and leave because I want to. Besides, I'm plugged into the local music market here! Why would I want to leave all my connections?
You know, if so many of us are from Michigan, we should have a meeting or something sometime. I'll bring Guilty Gear! :qcf :k

If I were to just spend the next few hours laughing incessantly at that blatantly untrue statement, would you be insulted?
-
Like Cole suggested, I made a frappr map for the forum.
http://www.frappr.com/thecongressofawesome
I'm in Hinesville, GA, about an hour away from Savannah. It'd probably take me 9 to 11 hours of driving to visit JG, and 5 hours to visit ROM-mate.
Hinesville sucks.
Also, there's a lot more anime stores in Georgia than you might think. There's Newnan Sports Cards, which has a large anime section, Vengeance of Excalibur, and Oxford Comics to name a few.

You must be stopping to eat and piss alot. Mapquest (http://www.mapquest.com/directions/main.adp?go=1&do=nw&rmm=1&un=m&cl=EN&ct=NA&rsres=1&1ffi=&1l=&1g=&1pl=&1v=&1n=&2ffi=&2l=&2g=&2pl=&2v=&2n=&1pn=&1a=&1c=hinesville&1s=ga&1z=&2pn=&2a=&2c=chattanooga&2s=tn&2z=&r=f) estimates 6 hours.

So including myself, we have four in various parts of Michigan.
Hmmmm... this may be useful

That'd be so awesome, man. Too bad that Washington is so freakin' far from Michigan. Another reason to hate this 2-bit town.
Ah well, at least I'm close to the holding grounds for Kumoricon. That convention is so freakin' awesome.

Just driving to Atlanta from Hinesville is 6 hours. Also, Mapquest assumes there isn't any traffic.

Might as well do it at a convention. Hey, that actually doesn't sound like too bad of an idea.

We'll pick you up in exchange for gas money.
