1999: Back when my internet connection was 56k and i was actively playing Counter-Strike. I'm sure most folks first taste of Viper were those tacky banners pOrNZ sites were advertising; they were pretty much unavoidable.

Yeah, never knew what the gifs were from back then, or that they were connected in any way. It wouldn't have been until 2005-6, just before I registered here that I took enough interest to trace them back to the source. The first gifs I saw to prompt that curiosity were of the Miki rape scene in CTR. I saw different gifs in entirely different places, but I recognized them as the same character, and they looked so good that, realizing if there were 2 or 3 animations of the same character there were probably more, I wanted to find all of them. I still didn't know the name of the character or the series, or even that they were from a game, I think. No idea how I did it, but I managed to collect a good amount of gifs from that scene before finding Hyperguy.net. Even if I was browsing 4chan at the time, I never asked for source, I guess I wanted it to be more of a challenge. Can't remember how I finally learned the name "Viper". Maybe I saw the answer to someone else's source request on 4chan, maybe one of the files I collected had it in the filename, or maybe I stumbled on Hyperguy's page on a random Google search. Either way, once I was here I was pretty much all in.

I discovered it in late 1999 by following Variable Geo artwork by Takahiro Kimura, finding pictures of Akira whose design borrows heavily from his earlier Yuka. A month or two later VIPER-GTB came out and I was hooked.

Back in the old days, I was very young, and I was always exploring things I wasn't supposed to back then (dohoho), but then I saw a gif of Miki's rape scene, and I was hooked.
I got my first game when I went 18, and needless to say, I've been an avid Viper fan, trying to get all the games, art, CGs...everything I can find.
