But that's no fun at all. You never see anime music videos made with the OST from that particular anime.

DTR - The Liquid Lounge. It's over a hundred minutes (IIRC) so I'd use a certain part of the song.

I'd use the heavy metal rock rendition of Neon Genesis Evangelion's Angel's Cruel Thesis.  And, if you've heard the song, you would too. =D

It's got a nice consistent beat that's perfect for flashing a long string of images too, much like the actual opening to Eva.

Hmm, I haven't watched much NGE, but I know what Cruel Angel's Thesis is.

Is the rock version official? Or was it made by a fan? Where can I hear it at? o_O

It's off of disc 5 of the Animetal Marathons CD Collection, which is a collection of heavy metal renditions of opening songs from classic tokusatsu and giant robot shows.

Actually I think using the fight scenes from V16 and GT1 and playing Knock On Wood would be amusing.  Showing the bad guys flinching while Akira dishes out justice with her fist of steel.  This would make me titter like a school girl on meth.
