Title: Rumble Roses
Post by: ROMate on January 01, 2006, 11:55:10 pm
Ok, so we have a full article on the game, but no topics addressing it? Well, that's about to change! I first experienced this with Hyperguy, when he decided to get it out and play it one morning. The game engine is simple enough to understand which makes gameplay easy and fast to get into. The best part's gotta be the camera; during certain moves you can change the angle and zoom in and out, highlighting the best parts of the game.  There's 10 characters, and each has a Face (Good) and Heel (Bad) version, for 20 characters total. The only bad part is that in Exhibition mode, you can only play the Face or Heel version at a time, so you have to change the character's attitude if you want the other version.

So far my favorite wrestler is Dixie Clemets, Face version (like the avatar didn't tell you that already). My favorite Heel is Killer Khan, but the way she talks makes me twitch.

"Cowgirl's tits are bigger than my goats!" - Aigle

The game's storyline and the things the characters say don't make much sense, but then again, this is professional wrestling.  Part of what makes it appealing is how it defies belief.  I've got to admit though, a lot of the wrestler's backstories seem a lot more serious than what you'd find in say, the WWE.

I guess it's no secret that Reiko's among my favorites.  I also like Killer Kahn and Evil Rose.  Hell, each of the characters have such an amount of detail to their designs that I can't help but find something appealing about each one.

At 15 dollars brand new I can't help but think I should go buy this little gem, I rented it once by recommendation from some guy named Jose, and now I keep thinking maybe in the least it'd be nice to have as a peice of my collection.

I do embrace the bizarre and outraegeous, after all.

Nope, but heard it added plenty of stuff that wasn't in the original, like a tag mode for starters.

Story mode and the mud matches are gone though...

But I liked the mud matches. Oh well. I'll never play it; I refuse to buy Xbox 360 on the grounds that all the games for it suck ass, like they did for the original Xbox.

Yesh, but the X-box has come around a lot since it's been released.  It may not have many famous games besides Halo, but it does have the best versions of some 2D fighters.

Like for example, SF: Anniversay Edition and Guilty Gear Reloaded.  You can play SF: Hyper Fighting Online(!) and with tournament rankings.  Also, Reloaded wasn't even released in America on PS2, making the X-Box the only domestic venue for the latest and greatest Guilty Gear game(Isuka doesn't count, and Slash isn't out yet).

Here's the Xbox games i have...

Halo 2- I got into it when i saw my buddy play the 1 player mode.I've played the 4 player deathmatch stuff, and i'm pretty good at sneak kills with the sword, but i much more prefer the 2 player co-op mode.Even though i have alot of games with VS modes,i'm more of a multiplayer co-op person.

Rainbow Six 3 Black Arrow-I'm a big fan of this game,i played the Rainbows that came out after it,and this is the only one i really like. The 2 player co-op mode is nice, also.

Star Wars Battlefront 2- How about the best version of a 3D game? The Xbox version supports 4 players offline, and that's how me and my pals like it...weather we're blowing stuff up as Stormtroopers,or playing as Jango Fett leading a buncha droids into battle, this version has some great offfline gaming fun!

Star Wars Knights of Old Republic 2 Sith Lords- It's a nice RPG,and the combat system is much easier for me to handle,as opposed to the first KOTOR,which was way too hard for me.

Star Wars Republic Commando- Take Star Wars, give it a Halo 2 engine, and add in squad-based action, similar to Rainbow Six 3 Black Arrow. That's what this is,you're a clone squad commander, and your team battles through the clone wars between movie episodes 2 and 3.

Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast- An action game, but also has various 2 player deathmatch modes, and you can set up a number of enemy bots as well.

Capcom Classics Collection- Yeah,it's got a few Street Fighters on it,which is cool, but i also play alot of Final Fight,Bionic Commando and the 3 player arcade game of Mercs on it,as well.

Hunter The Reckoning Redeemer- 4 player fun VS the undead. What i like best about it is the unlockable monsters you can play as,such as Vampire,Werewolf,Throwback and more.
....Okay,and Kaylie's got some big melons,too.

So,while i don't have too many games for my Xbox,i have these, which i really like.

Dang, I didn't know it had Bionic Commando on it.  Might have to look for that in the used games bin sometime.  Speaking of which, BC has been begging for a handheld remake for years.  Shame that Capcom's GBA division is such a sad sack of... well, you get the idea.

Yeah, the Bionic Commando on the Capcom Classics Collection is the arcade version,on which all the later versions of BC were based. The GBC Bionic Commando had an interesting concept, but the finished game had some many bugs the damn thing was unplayable. So,i got the arcade version on the Xbox Capcom Classics Collection,i have the NES version, and i also have the old black and white Gameboy version of Bionic Commando.

We don't even have a link of the month.  That's how awesome it is.

One problem: The X-Box controller SUCKS. Can't do shit on that lousy pad. Plus X-Box Live is so lag-ridden that trying to play anything on it is a bitch and a half. The best X-Box Live players get the fuck owned out of them in real competition.
Tons of FPS
Two problem: All the games that are "good" for X-Box are FPS. There are no other notable games to speak of. If I wanted to play tons of FPS (and I don't) I'd buy them for my computer and play them online that way, rather than waste my money on the system, game, and internet hook-up.

Since I'm tired of quoting, Killer Khan is better than Aigle, and boshy's link is made of win.

sorry,but i disagree.

1. They may not be 'notable',but i enjoy Capcom Classics Collection (Yeah,i know it's also on PS2),Star Wars-Knights of the Old Republic 2 and Hunter The Reckoning- Redeemer on my Xbox.True,i have have a few shooters on Xbox, but i don't consider myself much of a shooter fan.I don't actively check out every shooter on the market either,i try out what looks interesting to me.I think Xbox does have some nice games that aren't shooters.I don't have too many, but i just don't see Xbox as a 'shooter' only console. You can disagree,of course, but friends can disagree on things, right? ^_^

2. I don't play computer games online, nor XBox/PS2 or Gamecube games online.Too many cheaters and hackers ruined games like Diablo,Starcraft and such for the PC for me,and they flamed me and said rather rude things to me when i asked if we could play without cheats and hacks.I also have no interest in playing console games online, either.

I'm just able to find many games i enjoy on various systems,be they shooters,RPG's,import games,or whatever.

Amen, hackers fucked Diablo up, however, KoTor2 is much better on PC than it is on XBox, as is the original KoToR.

But yeah, online gaming on mainstream stuff tends to get busted up pdq.

I could understand if someone wants to use a cheat device offline,i do that myself with AR,Shark and Codebreaker,(i'm pretty bad at video games, but i enjoy them, and i at least try to get as far as i can in a game before i start using a cheat device), but my attitude towards online cheating is different.

With online games like Diablo, you trying to use the strengths of your aliies and your own skills to get far. That why i like playing 4 player mode on Xbox Star Wars Battlefront 2.As bad as i am in 1 player mode,i know enough that i can help out my allies in battle and still contribute to the team.I'm pretty good with the engineer class, and i can drop health and ammo for my pals, and i'm handy with the engineer's shotgun, and even if i die 10 times on a mission,we can still win,and i feel like i helped out and wasn't useless.Online cheating is something i'm strongly against, which strikes people as odd, seeing as i cheat in 1 player offline games and such on PS2,Cube and other systems, but that's just the way i am,i guess.

I'm kinda complicated...

I think it's the argument of winning against an AI vs winning against another human player... when you play against AI, it's your skill against simulated random skill (I'm thinking fighters here mostly), which depending on the coding, sometimes ends up to be downright controller-bitingly frustrating (and yes, I have destroyed a Famicom biting a controller).

i hear ya...when me and friends play a game(No matter if it's VS or Co-op),we never use codes.When i'm playing a 1 player game,i uses codes if i can't get any further.

Recently,i was able to beat XMen Legends 2 for Gamecube on Easy without using codes.I died a few times, but never had to use my AR at all,so at least i can beat Easy on it.I'm also doing okay on XMen 3 Official game for PS2,playing on easy, again, but actually making progress, even though i died/failed some missions every now and then.I make an effort to play as far as i can before using codes, but alot of games i play are pretty hard for me.

lol.sorry,my bad.

This game is pretty fun.Was playing it on my friend's 360,and i was pretty good at it. When i pick up a 360,this will be one of the games i pick up for it,without a doubt.I'm also interested in Oblivion,Resident Evil 5,and a few others, such as the recently confirmed 360 version of Phantasy Star Universe.

I'm not familiar with all the girl's names yet,but I was great as Makoto(Odd,eh?I'm good with this Makoto and Makoto Kino!).The cowgirl character was a good one for me,too.I forget the names of some of the other girls i tried...since my buddy just got his 360,he doesn't have all the characters unlocked yet.But still, great game!

I found RRXX to be rather entertaining BESIDES the T&A factor.  If you like unlocking stuff and can stand the tedious gameplay, this is the game for you!  Dixie Clemets and Sista A are my favorites.
