Title: All I Want for Christmas is a New VIPER Game!
Post by: JG on December 18, 2011, 10:02:16 am
It's almost Christmas again, which means you fine folks get to choose a VIPER game that I'll give away for free download.  The winning game will be available Christmas Day to New Year's Day.

Well I posted a message on the ShoutBox and sent HG a private message about it.  I don't know what he's doing.

Maybe if -everyone- sent him a private message he'd get a clue. (http://www.sognadigitalmuseum.com/forum/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=2)

A little disappointed in the number of people who still come around here and bother to vote, but the one person who did gets what they want.

If the links don't work when you try them, please check again later.  I'll be replacing the server this week, so there will be some down time.

The current hardware is an Athlon 1400Mhz with 512MB of PC800 RAM, and a 40GB IDE system drive and 60GB IDE data drive.  Yeah, old technology I know - I generally recycle my previous workstation components into the server.  The main purpose for replacement is the system drive is running at 99% capacity, so I can't really add any new features and it's becoming increasingly hard to keep it secure, as a good many Windows Update files fail becuase there's not enough free space left.  The new server will have an Athlon 2800+ running at 2000Mhz, a full GB of PC2400 RAM, and a brand new pair of 160GB WD Velociraptor SATA drives in a RAID0 (mirrored) configuration, so that nasty little hard drive failure that happened in March won't bite me again.  This setup should last for several more years.  I've got the hardware and OS installed, but haven't finished setting up IIS, ASP, SQL Server, backup policies, or system accounts yet.  I'll get all of this done this week.

I wonder which member voted?
