Title: The Scanning Thread
Post by: Hyperguy on November 15, 2005, 02:36:30 pm
I love scanning. I love threads. I'll post my scans here, scans that probably don't go anywhere else. :o

You can post your scans too!

WOW!

I didn't really have any other place to post this, and think a general scanning thread is in order, so here we go!

I scanned this yesterday:

It's from one of the Variable Geo novels.  I like fighting game women in langerie.  They make me want to  :qcf :+ :p.

I'll probably post some totally unrelated stuff later.

When I was still very new to anime, I came across this advertisement in an old video game magazine called Diehard Gamefan:

I sent them a SASE and they sent me back a copy of The Right Stuff Catalog, and from then on I became an anime encyclopedia.  Though I was young and poor and didn't have the cash to buy any of the anime contained within, I read through every description for every item in the catalog at least 95 times and absorbed as much information about the subject and series as I could.  I had seen a little bit of anime before, but it wasn't until I got their mighty tome that I finally started understanding it.  Mind you, this was in the mid 1990s, before internet became prevalent.  I must have been about 12 years old (I'm 21 now.)

This here's a scan from the back of my Mitsune Kono action figure:

When I saw her for sale in the dealer's room at Anime Weekend Atlanta 10 I just had to get her.  I mean, this is the first action figure I've seen where drinking and partying are part of what makes the figure great.  She comes with her own beer, own speakers, and best, no pants and enough inebriality to tumble over when you try to stand her up straight. And the cigarettes are the icing on the cake. :D

This here's a scan from the back of my Mitsune Kono action figure:

That almost looks like an early Kaiyodo sculpture. What company did that figure? I want to keep my eye out since I have a passion for pose-able capsule/trade figures.

There's a Kaiyodo logo on the spine card, so I think they made the figure.

Yeah, so I was at the local game store last week and I still had $6.00 store credit from the Dreamcast Keyboard, Guncon 1, PS1 Multitap, and N64 Tremor pack I traded in, and I came across this issue of Play magazine that had a review for DVD 1 of Godannar in it.

On the page opposite of the review was kickin' rad image of Go and Anna standing on top of the Godannar during a sunset, and from then on, I knew just what to do with my $6.00 store credit.

Needless to say, I brought the magazine home, took out the page, and scanned it:

Yes, this image is so awesome, it was worth buying an entire magazine for.  I love this image so much that I went ahead and made wallpaper out of it.

You can get it at 800 x 600 resolution here:

http://hyperguy.net/images/forum/scans/godannar_scan/godannar_wallpaper_800_600.jpg

and at 1024 x 768 resolution here:

Also, if you happen to be a high res image whore afficianado like me and like your images in high quality and at high resolution so that you can later use them for layouts or digital artwork, I have a high res version which you can get here:

Whoever said Guilty Gear for PS1 would never amount to anything, well, back then I would have had to agree with you.

Still, this ad's pretty cool:
