Title: Square Enix fails to acquire Tecmo
Post by: JG on September 06, 2008, 11:15:58 pm
In case you haven't been following along, Tecmo's board of officials formally rejected Square Enix's buyout offer this week.  Instead, Tecmo plans to merge with KOEI (producer of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series, among others.)

I think this is a good thing.  Not sure I would have liked Ryu Hayabusa wielding a buster sword or the DoA girls playing volleyball with a bunch of moogles.  (Admittedly, Monster Rancher would probably have benefitted from the chocobos though.)

Oh no my friend, Did you not consider the possibility of scantily clad DoA MOOGLE women? No, No, It's not what you think... Let me find a picture of a cosplayer I saw once...  Believe me, You won't look at a Moogle the same way again. (You'll bust a kuppo nut~!) XD I'm funny.

Now that Itagaki's left Tecmo and there won't be anymore Dead or Alive or Ninja Gaiden games produced by him I'm left wondering what other heavy hitting titles Tecmo has left.  It'll be interesting to see how "Tekmoei" will pool their efforts given their franchises.

The only ones of any note are Deception and Fatal Frame.

As for Kecmo, I wouldn't hold my breath for Dynasty Warriors: Xtreme Legends volleyball.

i completely forgot what i was going to say but yunachao wtf is that from is that a work by Scott Room-some-air?
oh yeah now i remember

wtf i don't care anymore tecmo has gone downhill somebody needs to just cannibalize that company.  Koei's probably not the ones to do it.

Honestly Die! Nasty Warriors was a great franchise but how do you take a franchise that can literally entice consumers to buy the same game in every iteration of the series and yet somehow turn that into a game that's so boringly similar even a mindless jagoff with no sense of quality in gameplay can get sick and tired of it (granted it took them five iterations to finally bore me)

Not to mention I still haven't forgiven them for not releasing any of the Uncharted Waters sequels here in NA, or like 90% of the Nobunaga's Ambition series, or releasing pretty much all the Sangokushi games in north america exclusively on a Sony console and when and if they DO FINALLY RELEASE IT ON A PC IT'S LIKE TEN YEARS AFTER THE FACT GAH

... and let's not even talk about all their "online" versions of games... uncharted waters online... sangoku musou online... FUCKING SACRILEGE.  ANGER.

hope they both merge and then promptly go fucking bankrupt and DIE.

dude where the fuck you been there's an online game for every fucking Koei franchise.
I wish I was kidding... technically, I might not be.  At last count there might not be a NObunaga's Ambition Online but I think they were working on it.  Definitely Shin Sangoku Musou (maybe not Sengoku, I misspoke), a Sangokushi and an Uncharted Waters

yeah I think the SSM Online was going international or phillipine version or something soon, whatever some version that involves English so I can understand it yes i was totally going to start playing yes I still am yes I'm that much of a musou whore sigh...

Why can't Capcom just release Sengoku Basara 2 and beyond in NA and free me of my drug dealing koei overlords.
