Title: New Year's Resolutions
Post by: Mirai Doft on January 06, 2008, 08:17:27 pm
Kinda late but post your new year's resolutions! I'll start:

-Teach myself some Japanese.
-Study more so I can get in a good university @_@
-Try to develop my social skills and be less shy.
-1024x768 (Fuck yeah no more 800x600).

-1024x768

Man does not live on less than 1280x1024 these days.

Thanks to my recent illness, I'm ahead of my perennial resolution to lose weight.  Probably lost 10 lbs in the last two weeks.

What about 1280x720 muahahaha?

Bah who am I kidding I'm addicted to 1680x1050, even though technically my monitor can do 2048x1536 my card is too shite to get it up there.

My new Year's resolution is to start my career, instead of this crappy half-assed job I have now.

We're nearing the end of January.

Who's followed through and who's abandoned?

I win at less gaming and more exercise. I fail at drawing more.

Today I attached my belt buckle through the third hole instead of the second for the first time on that belt, of which I've owned five or six years now.

I say that's progress.

Following. Here, I'm gonna be nice and post my work out for you guys. Just in case you wanna try it!

Day 1 - Upper
-----
Bench : 9 Sets of 3 Reps, varying grips, 30-35% of max weight, 30-40 rest between sets.

2 Lat Exercises, 3 sets of 12
2 Tri exercises, 3 sets of 10
2 Shoulder exercises, 3 sets of 15
Abs

Bonus (If I'm feeling frisky) : Rotators, Reverse Hypers, Biceps (We find that biceps get worked through everything else, so they kinda go down in the hierarchy here).

Day 2: Lower

Box Squats : 10 Sets, 2 Reps
Hip Sled : 3 Sets, 10 Reps
Leg Curl and Extension : 3 sets of 10
Abs + Reverse Hypers

Day 3: Upper

One heavy bench, 3x5 or 3x3 or max or best 1x5, or 1x3 or 1x2.

Other than that, same as day one.

Day 4: Lower

Squat : Box, full, or good mornings, choose a rep scheme and then finish off with day 2

(Keep in mind theres a 1 day break between the days, so I work out every other day.)
(If you don't know what something is, bodybuilding/fitness sites will be able to tell you)

Hey, following up on resolutions... awesome idea.

Me, I am already using my time better.  My mornings have become far more efficient.

I've also stopped eating out for lunch and buying orange juice in the mornings.  I'm dumping 2.5x per month what I was into savings a few months ago.

I've also already written two reviews (I'll post a link eventually) and am working on a third tonight.

After more than 6 months, how are you guys holding up? Here is my progress:

-Teach myself some Japanese.
Erm, this was going very well in the beginning of the year, but then school kept me too busy, and it's been 2 months since I last studied some >__>'

-Study more so I can get in a good university @_@
"Done". I passed the exams for Computer Science in 6th place, but sadly can't enter the university because I still haven't finished school =P But at least I'm relaxed, if I keep this rhythm I'm sure I can do even better in the end of the year.

-Try to develop my social skills and be less shy.
BIG SUCCESS. Not only have I made lots of new friends and am a lot more social, I also finally got a girlfriend =DDDD

-1024x768 (Fuck yeah no more 800x600).
Updated to 1440x900 lol

I'm heading back in a couple of weeks, actually.  Hopefully music composition will be my thing.  As for the GF and awesome job later on, well... we'll see.  >_<

2. Get my driver's license.

Still haven't done much to address this, though with gas prices as they've been (although recently slightly better), I haven't had much incentive.  =/

3. Attempt to learn Japanese.

Fail so far.  Anyone know of any good websites that could help?

4. PLAY MORE VIDEO GAMES.  >:3

HELL YEAH.

Get GF: Not yet, working on it though.
Finish Coding for PHD work:  I just one step shy of having a viable program (sadly its a rather big step).
Bench 200 lbs: I'm at 150 right now.  Just need to get that other 50 lbs.
