Hi i have the game Viper V8 (Alien War, Jason)...
how can i run it under Windows XP... need a emulator or something.
-
What you mean boy??? I got it from torrent and it was like all of old viper games... an executable... which surely is cracked... do you receive some kind of error message?
-
maybe he found ther rom from pc98. if yes you might want to look for anex86.
-
If its the Windows version, it may have to be run from a CD. Burn it to physical media or mount the image in something like Daemon Tools or Alcohol Virtual CD to get around the copy protection.

try going into properties and changing the progrram compatability to Windows '95 or '98 to see if that will make a difference. there is a working copy in the Shop, if all else fails.

I need help getting V8 to work as well. Downloaded it years ago (had Windows ME back then), then I decided to play them again a few months ago. Everything but V8 works on XP. Anyone know how to get it to work?
I've already tried changing the compatibility, but they just gave me the "This is not a Valid Win32 Application"; before I changed the compatibility it didn't say or do anything after being double-clicked. No image to mount, just that folder/directory.
Burned them to a CD, but it still isn't working.

"This is not a Valid Win32 Application"
Your copy of V8.EXE or SGS.EXE is probably corrupted.
Use the hueys I sent you to download V8 from the forum shop. It is a known working copy.

hi
I have the problem, too. Does somebody know where I can load a working version of this game?
If it's not possible to get it could anyone upload it?
Thanks a lot.

This site has a known working copy. You can "purchase" it from the Shop button near the top of the screen, but only after you have enough posts (15-20)

I found the end of the Friday the 13th parody/homage rather strange. Because I don't understand Japanese, my interpretation might be a bit off, but going by the images, it seemed to consist of;
Boys: Ta da! There never was any deranged masked lunatic, we just disguised ourselves like one and raped you as a prank!
Female Victims: oh, you!
-
Yep, that's pretty much it.
-
I know this is an old thread but I was just wondering where I could find the pc98 roms you guys were talking about..been looking for v8 for ages...but haven't had any luck....
-
You want a PC98 version of V8? What's wrong with Windows version? (unless you're a collector of sorts)
I've got HDIs for both regular and RS versions of V8. I'll trade them for the pre-Sogna M.I.N classics Vision and Vision 2 that were redone in VIPER Island 3, 4, and 5.

Where is the forums shop?
-
hahaha.. this forum used to be on a different site before,
and a couple of revision back of the old forum, it used to have a shop.
it, unfortunately, doesn't exist anymore.
-
I never quite understood the shop in this forum.
You used imaginary monetary to purchase downloadable Viper games, right?
-
yup basically it... the more you post the more hueys (i think they were called) you'd get..
and there was also a banking option, you could store them in the bank, which had an interest growth (which i never saw on my stored hueys)
one day, poof, it all disappeared.
