Title: Should I just shut up and do it?
Post by: Ellendesu on November 10, 2007, 04:37:32 pm
Whats up guys?

Heres the deal, I'm considering sending a guitar audition into my biggest influence in the world, Sascha K. of KMFDM. Over the years, I have loved their music, but recently, they've been using less than great musicians with the exception of a choice few. I am better. I am a child of the Ultra Heavy Beat, and I am more than willing to put my money where my mouth is.

Basically, I would send in a press kit, this includes a biography, photograph, and a CD/DVD of my playing both original material as well as KMFDM songs, and of course, a letter explaining why I'm sending it in the first place.

What do you think everyone? Am I a bad enough guitarist to represent the greatest industrial rock band ever to grace the world?

Maybe you could post some of you playing so we can evaluate, but I don't see why you shouldn't try. If you don't, you'll live the rest of your life(not really) wondering if they would have accepted you. So yeah, shut up and do it.

Fred Perry submitted artwork to Antartic Press to be a comic artist there.  It got turned down.  Two years later, he submitted another one.  Not only did he get accepted, but he's also the best comic artist they have right now.

I think you have more to gain by sending it in and having it rejected, and even more to gain by having it accepted.

Lol...  >_<

But yeah, Hyperguy's right.  Even if you DO get turned down, it should only encourage you to do better.

I also agree. Send it in, you really have nothing to lose.

Well, then, you just answered your own question now, then, didn't you, then?

Fred Perry

Too bad Fred Perry is a huge cock-mongrel.  Wait a sec... *remembers who Atrician is*

Oooh, good analogy.

This post is NOT to be taken in offense, but rather as a way of saying "Go ahead, you aren't gonna LOSE anything."

Currently lol'ing at Heffer being in a do it faggot! Post. Thats epic win.

They aren't seeking to replace their current guitarists any time soon, oh well, I'm just gonna keep doing my own thing and rock out twice as hard. Thanks for the support, and at least I got noticed, sorta.

Peace!
