I've not played either of these, and I doubt I ever will. FPS games have never been big contenders for my time or money. But Metroid has Samus and is on the Wii, so I'm betting that one's better.

Give it a year or three and it'll be on PC.  (Although you might need something rediculous like Windows 2010 Ultimate and a DirectX 12 compatible video card.  You'd probably pay less than that for an Xbox360.)

MP3. I played Halo 3 and it's nothing new.

Halo: Awesome controls, co-op, multiplayer. Revolution at the time.
Halo 2: Halo with online play
Halo 3: Halo 2 with better graphics.

MP3 was awesome.

I think it was. I'd say the best FPS before Halo at that time was Urban Chaos or something. Haha, and it was a horrible game.

After revisiting Goldeneye recently, I think it's safe to say that that game is absolute shit. The control is just awful.

I guess I've been spoiled by dual analog, but I barely even like FPS games anyways. Strange that I used to love Goldeneye.

Well you have to remember that there was a time when Goldeneye was the best FPS out there, then the nex gen stuff came out and blew it away.

Meh, I liked Perfect Dark better... but both games were awesome at the time.

As for the topic, I haven't played either yet, but I really want to.  If I had to, I guess I'd vote Metroid Prime 3, since I got more enjoyment out of the first two games than I did playing Halo 2 in one-player... though Halo 2 was much better at multiplayer...  >_<

I'm waiting on UT3 to satisfy my FPS needs, personally.  :3

Goldeneye was quickly pwned in all Bond aspects by 007 Nightfire.

I finally tried some MP3, this seems fun, but lacks the appeal the classic Metroid games had for me. I'll let you know after I beat it.

Duke Nukem 3D.  If you ever got the chance to play this in LAN multiplayer it was both exciting and hilarious at the same time, given the built-in taunt feature and less-than-serious attitude of a dozen Dukes running around.  The silence of those that followed (Quake and it's sequels) proved quite boring by comparison.

Before I even watch that, I say this:  fuck TS.  and Fuck Free Radical.  FUcking sellouts.

Future Perfect was fucking horrible.  TimeSplitters 2 still stands as the greatest console FPS of all time.  A worthy sequel to GE and PD.  POINT DEFENSE

I actually went back and played TS2 after buying Future Perfect.  Then I lost my gamecube memory card.  FUUUUUUUUCK.  Even the map creation utility wouldn't make me enjoy TS2 more for some bizarre reason.

Whatever, Free Radical just another soulless animated limb of EA, now, anyways.

There were only two Metroid games on the DS.  One was 3-D, the other was pinball.  Having said that, I don't mind the new look, but I agree that I preferred the 2-D versions more, and that the argument that games have to be 3-D now to sell is a load of crock.

I beg to differ.  Although I thought Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion were fun games, I loved the FPS/Adventure feel of the Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes a lot more.  Besides, Nintendo didn't really have any other good FPS games that I knew of at the time... everyone was playing Halo, Half-Life, and other random stuff.

And yes, I agree that 2D games can be just as fun as 3D games.  People are still playing the old Mario games ever since the Wii's Virtual Console came out.

Super Metroid was a trailblazer, it paved the way for action-adventure titles for YEARS to come, it was not a "fun" game, it was a goddamn amazing game, but at least you realize that it's good =P

That was the original Metroid.  Super Metroid was the pinnacle of 2D platforming achievement.

Maybe that's why they don't make 2D Metroids anymore... you can't live up to perfect =/

and Metroid Fusion was crap -_-

I mean for a 2D Metroid, I mean it was worlds, WORLDS better than 3D Metroid but still

The only thing I dislike about 3d Metroid was when they tried to introduce multiplayer and F-A-I-L-E-D.
I love the rest of it, especially the boss fights.

I think the most fun part of Halo (this is halo 1 I'm talking about, on PC) is the random mod from nowhere that makes the plasma pistol shoot trees. Yes, trees. Way to confuse EVERYBODY.

So yeah, I vote for a plasma beam modded to shoot trees.

I liked Halo 3 a lot but it didn't really last and the more I look back at it, the more flaws I see in the campaign.

Overall, I'll go with the others here. Metroid Prime 3 was a better expierence.
