Hey, I found a CD with F40 in it and I started to play it again.
I wanted to know: At some point, Raika's boss shows up with a briefcase with money in it (after her assistant [Shira?] gets kidnapped). What's it for?
Ransom. And Fauzen is not Raika's boss anymore. Raika quit RUF because she couldn't deal with his policies. Raika is now a freelance detective, which is why they have to advertise to get work.
And I don't get the ending. Shira's doctor was some freaky scientist dude who stuck a bunch of bald dudes in a dark room? If someone could explain the story I'd appreciate, thanks.
The doctor is trying to clone people. To cover his tracks, he's cloning people that have mysteriously disappeared, which is how the story begins: with Raika and Lilia hunting for three missing persons. Apparently this doctor is well respected so Fauzen hired him to look into his daughter's heart problem. He betrays them by turning Sheila over to Saki's gang of kidnappers, who do all the "mysterious disappearing" for the doctor. Fauzen finds out too late he's been indirectly supporting criminal activity that cost him his daughter's life, so he commits suicide.
F40 is a very good story but its a ten-fold tragedy.
