I downloaded the Viper torrent with most of the games and it came with one called Guynaroc. Everytime I try to run it, I get an error message with a description I can't read. Anyone have any idea how to fix this and run the game properly?
-
Surely you mean Gunyarock...

Hello EBgames? I'd like 10 copies of Gunyarock!
I'm sorry miss, but all we have are copies of Halo 2. The closest thing we have to a game called Gunyarock is a game for the PC called Galactic Gaurdian Guynarock, which was released by Sogna in 1995. We have it for sale used, for $20.

Impossible! That's not the same game at all! Why does this happen everytime I call?!
DID SOMEBODY CALL ME?!
Not unless somebody called out "Dumbface."

I sure could use a backrub. <3

...It looks like we're going to have to try again tomorrow.

Did you burn it to CD?
-
I never heard of that game 0.o Wich characthers are in? What is it about?
-
Galactic Guardian Guynarock R is Sogna's bastard child of sorts. Its the first and only game Sogna published after starting the VIPER series that was itself not a VIPER game, though most people lump it in with them. They published it about the same time as F40 and F50, and it looks and plays similar to both. It's based off one of their earliest PC88 games, Galactic Guardian Guynarock, featuring five females who must defined their space station from an alien assault. At their disposal is a huge robot, the Guynarock, who they can call upon in their most desperate hour to defeat the alien lord's own super robot.
Below you'll see the five girls and the Guynarock in the background. (This is the box art of GGG-R, minus the title graphic and Sogna logo.)

As far as the Congress of Awesome is concerned, its just something to poke fun at. We jokingly call it Gunyarock (where did that come from anyway HG?) It often shows up in Viper Thumbnail Theatre as the object of Raika's ongoing queries to her local EBGames. They never have it in stock.
Might I also add that the above referenced post from March 2005 is and will forever be the most epic post ever on the Congress of Awesome. And not just because Karin cosplay equals automatic win.
-
I haven't burned it to a CD but it seems like it should be able to run without burning. thh SGS flie is provided like other programs, it just doesn't run.
-
thx for the information! its maybe not a Viper, but its Sogna,so it does seem interesting.
-
Anybody have any suggestions? 'cause I'd like to play it, despite it being Songa's bastard child.
-
I think "Gunyarock" came from HG having momentary dyslexia.
-
You can try the V16 International EXE swap workaround described here (http://www.sognadigitalmuseum.com/forum/index.php?topic=394.msg4981#msg4981). Don't think anyone's tried it on Guynarock though so no promises.
Just "momentary", ROMate?
-
I have a problem with Gunyarock too. I never can seem to find it at the used games store. =(

Thanks. I'll give it a try.

It would have been had we not made it into an epidemic.
-
Does this mean I have to hand out the shotguns set aside for "epidemics" again?

Only when zombies get involved. Hyperguy still has some wits left, so its too early to break out the firearms just yet.

I just got through playing Guynaroc, and while I found its story entertaining(though I didn't understand a word of it), the sex was pretty underwhelming. I don't think there's enough of it, and a lot of it seems to be just out of frame(I don't think there's any penetration shots), and the blonde protaganist never got screwed at all. Now, does this mean that I just made the wrong choices thoughout the game, or is this as good as the pornographic side of the game gets?
By the way, what do those two choices that you have the option of toggling on or off at the title screen do?
-
The choices in Guynarock don't mean a thing. The story basically plays out the same no matter what you do. (Same is true for its contemporaries, F40 and F50)
The two options are:
Auto-scenario - game plays itself without any clicking
Message - I seem to recall this having something to do with the text appearing at the bottom of the screen or it being audio-only.
-
Cheers for the answers, JG00. It is a right pity that Guynarorck's sex scenes aren't up to scratch, because the rest of it seemed pretty good(like I said I don't understand anything being said, but it does all seem to be rather exciting). It's got a fairly attractive cast too(well, the three older characters are), which makes it a bit more disappointing.
The Chibi retelling of the story was entertaining though. Especially the abortion-punch at the end.

I really have no idea what the hell's going on in this thread now. Can someone explain it to me, please?
-
Well see, it's a gag based on the fact that the one guy said "We can dream" and then I shouted the lyrics to the Captain Jack song "Dream a Dream".
It is funny hahahahahahahahaha LAUGH GODDAMN YOU

I can't get my copy of Guynarock to work, been asking for any tips on what to do, and just shooting the shit.
-
I got it to run by using Daemon Tools on the zip that the game came in. Dunno if that'll work for you though.

I don't know how to use Daemon very well. (I'm what they might call computer challenged) I'm worried creating a digital hard drive might cause my actual drive to crash. Thanks for the suggestion though, sounds like it may work.
-
A digital hard drive? Hell, I didn't even know that it did that. I thought it was just weird thingamabobber that let me run some Viper games.
At any rate, it's easy to uninstall when you no longer want it.

True. Maybe when I take the training wheels off my computer, I'll give Daemon a shot.
-
It would really help if anyone had a working copy that they could link to this thread.
-
I found mine on the hentaipalm forums.
-
Mine's corrupted. Consequently, all of the copies of Gunyarock that I've downloaded have been corrupted. I'm actually convinced that there aren't any copies of Guynarock floating on the web that aren't. When the person first made the image and uploaded it, they must have not noticed that it was corrupted. D:

...
As far as I know, this one works. It's not 10 copies, but I think it'll suffice. The only thing that's weird is that you have to use the .exe in the image in order to run it (even if the image is mounted, the .exe on the hard drive won't register it).

Plot Synopsis
The 5 girls are stationed on this satellite. Reason it's an all-female group is because women are supposedly better at survival or something like that. The green ship was a research lab for this guy named Vainal or something. He was a biologist with the obligatory mad scientist view that "people limit science with morals." So he bought/got a ship to perform his research. Turns out he cloned himself many times. He kidnaps the ladies because of the flaw in cloning IE you can only clone so many times before the DNA starts eroding due to one reason or another; usually telomeric shortaging. Cue Elly/Ellie's appearence in the Guynaroc and fight with Vainal. Ellie rescues one of the girls (who just so happens to be an artificial human) and that girl activates a system in Guynarock and turns it from the rather feminine form into a more masculine form (the Guynarock R). Cue total ass whuppage of Vainal's mech and ship. Ellie is called down to Earth for a report of the incident. There, she requests that everyone's (except hers, I think) memories of the event be wiped because of trauma or stress. Time skip to after the memory erasing. Things are boring, but Ellie says "at least it's peaceful" or something to that extent. One of the girls that was raped has "stomach pains." Cue blackout and credits.

That's the same one! Gunyarock.ace has a corrupted sgs.dat file. Every other file's fine, but it I'm convinced that that's the only image of it available on the web.

Thanks for the help Cashino and the synopsis. Hopefully this will work despite it being corrupted as Hyperguy said. Worth giving a shot right?

oh THAT corruption. I had/have the same problem with RSR, so I didn't think it was a corruption.

Yeah, it's the same version I downloaded off the torrent with the collection of Sogna games. Damn, seems like this one game is the biggest pain in the ass out of all of them.

Props to JGOO. It worked perfectly. I appreciate your help.
