You guys seen these things advertised? They look fucking SWEET! Unfortunately, I heard that they'd retail around $500-$600 though, so I doubt I'll be getting one anytime soon...

I want a pony

I want a pony
I want a unicorn....
.... Damn you, Gabe >=(
-
Well, they're supposed to go on sale around 6 P.M. or so... any of you rich bastards getting one?
-
No, I already have a laptop. And a cell phone.
And I don't use AT&T but then again I forget what calling plans are available.
-
I already got an iPod (a first generation one at that). And I very, very, VERY rarely use a cell phone. Don't see why I really need to drop that much money on something I already have/rarely use rather then drop it off for a PS3.

Yeah, him and his stupid Pheonix too.
-
I want a Green Lantern Corps Power Ring.
-
Do they really only come in AT&T plans? Cuz I believe in Verizon
-
Me? I want a hula hoop
-
I'd like a posture-pedic twin size mattress.
-
I want a personal teleporter. It would be awesome to be able to go anywhere in an instant.
-
I just want one of those massage chairs like they sell at Sharper Image. Those things rule.
-
I want the Constructicons and control of Cobra.
-
Look, I just want some pants.
-
ROMate...you have plenty of pants >___>
-
Too many pants, in fact.
In fact, any pants are too many pants. 0 pants = right amount of pants.

P.S. Sorry I couldn't find a clip of just the song.
P.P.S. BTW this is also one of my favorite MST3k's.
-
I think we all want you to get some pants, ROMate.
Ewww.
-
Pants are forgettable.
Also this is one of the few times I'm actually wearing pants; in fact I am wearing ONLY pants.
Coincidence!?!?
No.
-
So nobody caught the reference? My faith in the Congress is diminishing.
-
Solomon Grundy forgot to want pants too.
-
He lost his pants on Friday?
-

Solomon Grundy forgot to want pants too.
Sorry, I knew that sounded familar. May I present defense Exhibit B:

Yeah because that's not th emost esoteric of esoteric remarks. Or an extensively generic remark in general.
in GENERALITY.
GENERALNESS. g.

Hehehe, never seen that thing in english. We had it in spanish.
Fun fact: Straw is translated to "Paja", but Paja is a slang argentinian word for masturbation. You do the maths.
As for the subject of the topic...

Wow, so much for our enthusiasm in technology... *wonders where the fuck the focus of his thread went*
Anyway, as soon as I can find a job in this shitty town and save up enough money, I'm getting one of these. And all of my town's rednecks and technophobes shall bow down in ph33r and confusion to me... and stuff. So there. >XP
Man, you guys suck...
Oh yeah: undies > pants. Cuz I said so, that's why. GAWDAMMIT I MADE THIS THREAD GIB RESPECT NAO >_<;

Seriously, why buy into the hype of all of this new technology that's come out in the past few months?
Multiple times I've seen people spend hundreds of dollars on brand new equipment only to forget to buy games or movies to use them with. They buy them not because they ever wanted them, but because society told them to get them.
Really, why would anyone want a six hundred dollar phone?

Well, because it's not JUST a phone. It fuses a phone, an iPod (with music AND video), and the full-blown Internet all in one single, portable device with an easy-to-use touch screen interface, powered by a Mac OS. THAT'S why I want one. I was blown away by how versatile this thing was in the commercials that were aired.
As for movies and music - you can just torrent or rip what you want, and then upload it, provided they're in a supported file format. I don't see what the big deal is about that. =/

Good investment tactic: always wait to buy new tech and avoid buying first generation tech. Chances are, they'll get cheaper with equal performance or even better. Also, this avoids any bugs and hassles when things are first released (such as insane bugs/glitches, faulty performance, need to return the thing if it is faulty, etc.). Something like this won't stay $500+ for long after compitition and optimizing goes underway.

QFT. Apparently the first iteration of the iPhone is pretty crippled. Here's a short list(!) of some missing features:
1. Bluetooth is limited to headset coupling. So no Bluetooth file transfer.
2. No custom ringtones.
3. No voice dialing or speed dialing.
4. No MMS.
5. The web browser does not allow hilighting, cutting or copying of text. It also doesn't allow you to save images.
-
Yes, it's an even more limited version of Safari. Would have been salvageable if you could at least replace the browser. Though maybe that is possible, not sure if it's customizable like that.
But for me, I dunno if I said this earlier I'm too lazy to scroll down, I don't really need anything it has. I mean I already had a laptop so I can do anything it can do and more, even if Laptops weigh a lot more it still does stuff I need that an iPhone doesn't provide so I'm going to end up lugging it around all the time ANYWAYS.
So expensive phone + expensive plan + laptop I already have = no desire for it.
And I don't buy things just for the sake of the "new technology". Companies have had all this tech for years, they are just too lazy to give it to the consumer, because it's easier to div it out in small bits to please the "ooh technology" people. I'll wait until it's actually useful to me >.>
PS. Pie.
