Nice to meet you.  Welcome to the Horum.

There's probably a million reasons why Sam Fisher would win, but in my biased opinion they're all negated by the fact that Sam's never taken on something as powerful as Metal Gear, and probably never will.  There's an old saying that says "The strength of a man can be determined by his opponents," and I don't think Sam's ever fought with anyone as powerful as some of the more classic Metal Gear Solid villains like Revolver Ocelot, Sniper Wolf, or Vulcan Raven.

If the Apochlypse is on the rise, then probably.

Snake would win, easily. He's got a deeper voice (heard in MGS3) probably because he started smoking at age 4, you can usually hold what 20 Grenades, if many different kinds? He doesn't have to be all stealthy, and can actually pickup more than a simple handgun and goofy rifle.

And, he has a freaking bandana.

SNAKE! SNAKE! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Snake,  as a character, is much more interesting than Sam Fisher, which is just another tough guy. Snake has much more than that.
