It sums this up quite nicely: http://www.metro.co.uk/weird/article.html?in_article_id=33257&in_page_id=2

Crimes like this beg the question, why aren't we an eye-for-an-eye society anymore?

Somebody probably defined that as "cruel and unusual". At the very least he should never be allowed to practice medicine again.

I don't think eye-for-an-eye is the right solution. This guy basically lost his temper (at his own mistake) and decided to take it out on his patient in a cruel and grotesque fashion. The simple fact that he lost his temper over a mistake is enough reason to revoke his licence permanently. No doctor should be unable to control himself when he holds a person's future in his hands. The monetary costs are there because of how he chose to take his frustration out. He didn't storm out of the room, he didn't punch the wall or scream, he assaulted and mutilated his patient, going so far beyond the hypocratic oath that psychopath doesn't even begin to cover it.

I agree this guy should lose his job and license immediately.

I've got no control over that, sadly. There should be SOMETHING in the article to back it up though.

Atleast...  What would have happened if he were a cardiologist operating on a heart?  Would he have acted the same way?

LOL Holy ****, I've never seen a case like this...and I've seen some pretty messed up things, too

Man...if that ain't explosive (and dangerous) temper, I dunno what is.

Gotta pity the patient. though...first he gets a problem with his gonads, then an angry doctor lops off his ding-a-ling.

I'd feel sorry for that guy if it wasn't so funny. Still a messed up thing to do, and I wouldn't ever want it to happen to me, but... it didn't That's kinda why I can laugh. No better joy than Schadenfreude.

Anyway, this guy should immediately be taken out of operating on penises. He obviously ain't mentally equipped for the job.
