Godannar

Okay, here's the run down.

Godannar's a giant robot show, done in the style of giant robot shows from the 70s and 80s, draw in a contemporary style by the great Takehiro Kimura.

That's the base concept for the anime.

Beneath the concept is an even cooler premise for a giant robot show.  The pilots of the main robot Godannar are actually a husband and wife team and the story follows their exploits from their marriage to the trials and tribulations their marriage has to go through, all the while the world is being attacked by monsters

On the plus side it's got lots of fan service, lots of action, and a soundtrack that sounds more like something out of a Megaman game than an anime.

There's images of all of the characters and mecha at http://www.godannar.com/

Though it was recently licensed, you can still find fansubs for it on Hongfire.com.

Hmmm... I wonder if she has the same prescription on her glasses?

Other than the spectacles, I don't see that much similarity between them.  The hairstyle is totally different, the shade of blue in their eyes is off and Karin's got a curvier figure.  When you told me about this girl I guess I was expecting braids or in that "busty-petite" category I adore.  I mean, she's cute, but not quite Karin-cute.

Tee-hee, he said he still thinks I'm cuter!

That's because I said she could pass for her older sister.  The blonde hair, blue eyes, thin eyebrows, that worried look on her face.  Maybe she's not Karin a clone, but she's definitely in the same family.  As for the curves, you can't really let your figure show when you're wearing a bulky space suit.  I'm going to have to agree with you though.  She's not Karin-cute, but I have to admit she's got a nice round rump.

Bill, thanks for the internets. =D

Internets is that state of the mind between looking at a screen and being a part of what's going on inside the screen.

Like when I'm typing and seeing my words appear on screen, and seeing my words appear in my mind, and hearing myself think the words as I type them, that would be what I consider internets.

A connection that not only manifests itself from computer to computer, computer to server, and computer to person, but also person to person, a communication between your personality in the virtual and the real world.

Dude, it'd be badass if my computer got struck by a bolt of lighting and caused the online aspect of my personality to gain form and sentience and came out of my monitor and beat the crap out of me in an eight episode story arc.  That'd so own.  Real life Hyperguy would smash open internet Hyperguy's head open with a lead pipe for the win.

Wait, what the fuck were we talking about? =O

If lightening strikes my computer, I'd rather have Viper girls spring forth long before an e-clone of you...

Hey, is there any chicken on this side too?

Karin has three lines high on her forehead that make up her eyebrows. If you're going to compare that Godanner chick to a Viper girl, its got to be Seera. (Who is the spitting image of a blonde Kaori from V.G.)

Hiya!

And don't you dare dismiss how nice of an ass Karin has:

I'm not so sure. I think in my case, every CG picture girl I have on my computer would spring to life and slap the piss out of me.

Civility is overrated, don't you think?

Necroed because I just saw Godannar again and call dibs on the space loli.  She really is reason enough to watch the series, and the maverick robot they show towards the end is badass in a Megaman X sort of way.

Eh, the connection between those two is pretty loose. Takahiro Kimura's always been good about making his characters distinct - even his similar characters are different enough to be considered their own. It's nice that there are character designers still capable of this, especially since you've got guys running around who use two or three faces, stick on some different hair, add or subtract boobs, and call it a new character (hello Captain McGundam Seed).

Also, last I heard, Godannar volume one is thus far slated to come out over here in the States sometime in October. It's not really set in stone at the moment, but whenever it comes out, do buy it. It's well worth it.
