I've said this before, but it'd be far better easier to animate your art by tracing with the line tool in Flash (it's incredibly easy, and nowhere as time-consuming as using the pen tool in Photoshop, etc.). Even far more detailed objects like background elements can easily be done with just using the line tool (scroll down to my last Viper vector in October) -- http://www.sognadigitalmuseum.com/forum/index.php?topic=3007.0

If you're bent on buying a Cintiq, a much cheaper alternative that'll offer a similar experience is buying a tablet PC with a Wacom digitizer (a Wacom touch screen). The Surface Pro is such a device and works quite well, especially since it can run Windows and art programs natively (unlike the Cintiq, which is really an extension peripheral). The Surface Pro is on the expensive side though (there have been deals this season). A much, much cheaper alternative is the Fujitsu T4215 ($100 on eBay last i checked). The only problem with that one is because it's a bit old it gets a warm on the lap.

It's actually a lot easier to do line art on an external tablet like the bamboo. Having one hand on the keyboard (very important) and the other on a pen is not only more comfortable but a lot more practical.

If you're doing freehand then yes, the Cintiq is the best (although a tablet with a Wacom digitizer is just as good imo).

Could use Osamu and Takesi standing in the background. See M1 and V12 covers for inspiration (and V16, if Karin and Saki were turned around to face the front.) If you've seen that alternate cover for GTB with sinster Narsha in the backgruond, that's good inspiration, too.

Nice to see you haven't given up on your project.

I tried messing around with ToonBoom, but its not as close to Flash as i like; Flash's line tool really does make life a whole lot more convenient.
