By now you may have seen some of the random banners on the main site. I'm extending an open invitation to anyone who'd like to create a banner to go ahead and post it here.
If you'd like to create one for the site so that all who visit will be able to admire your work and send you chocolates and make love to your hard drive please follow the following guidelines:
Banner guidelines
-Dimensions for banners are 624 x 114. That's 624 width and 114 height.
-Banners must be less than 50KB in file size.
-Banners must say "Hyperguy.net" on them somewhere.
-GIF, JPG, and PNG formats are accepted. Sorry, no SWFs, TIFFs or BMPs.

I'm going to reserve the right to not except crappy banners, and by crappy I mean ones that look like Photoshop puked on them.
What makes a good banner?
Clean image quality, humor, whimsicalness, these are all great qualities for a Hyperguy.net banner to have. Of course, there's never a right way to do things that works for everybody, so just throw some things together and use the method that works best for you when putting one together.
Why should I make Hyperguy.net banners?
Creating Hyperguy.net banners will add a full inch to your penis size if you're a man and increase your bust a full cup size if you're a woman. Plus, they're fun to make and are good for laughs or prematurely killing/revitalizing a joke.
How do I submit them?
Upload them to some hosting somewhere and post them in this thread so that Hyperguy(That's me) may download them and add them to the site. After your banner's been added I'll post here announcing that your banners been added and may even drop some gold coins(Don't read too much into that last part).

I have too many to count.
His dashing forward kick has always been my bread and butter weapon, whereas I get excited everytime I manage to finish off a combo with an ensenga. Then again, nothing compares to comboing into his overdrive. "Sore wa, ore no ga da!" It blows away all of his other moves out of the water.

Except the only "combos" available are a relatively simple "punchpunchpunch!", "kickkickkick!" and "chopchopchop!"
You don't get to do Burning Hammer, Falcon Arrow, or Bazooka Udon in any of the Viper games. (I'm still trying to figure out exactly what Bazooka Udon (udon=noodles) would look like-- my guess is its a submission hold.)

That variant (and it's original figure) have been super-rare for a while now. I remember seeing it for $40 and thinking I'd wait until the price lowered, but then it sold out and now it sells regularly for $60+. With demand like that, it's only going to get more expensive.

XD i guess i need to create a banner for my sig, now that i've joined this place... maybe one of nanako, since i like her a lot. problem is, i really dunno how. =/ i SO need to get myself a new computer... that way i won't constantly have only 2 or so gigs of hard drive space left over for downloading or installing things other than hentai, lol... then i could probably find some copies of flash and adobe photoshop to tinker around with. i'm pretty sure i want to be a graphic designer for a living, so such programs and proper instruction would help me immensely... that, and working more on my drawing skills... >_<;

Didn't you know? Aside from the time limit imposed on pets, of which at the end of 90 days they disappear without a shot of "Water of Life", which is probably some sort of slang for a hallucinogenic that makes the pet appear as if it were still there, Maple Pets are totally invincible.
Either that or the cat is the Maple version of O.J. and it too was searching for the Real Killers.

About banners...I'm opposed to the idea of removing any of them. The way I see it, the more banners the better, and it's not a competition either so I don't think we should be making comparisons about which are better than others, etc.
Also, the banners are random for a reason; so there's greater chances of seeing all of the banners than only a few each week or month, which keeps things a bit fresh. It's true that there are some banners that are really old, but because they represent things from the community I wouldn't want to see them go.

Thanks. The main problem, though is limiting the file size. If I save it as a jpg, the sprites get ****ed up, but If I keep it as a png, file size is way over 50 KB.

WOW, that is one pimpin' sonic banner, dude... man, as a gamer, i was RAISED on sonic, so i HAVE to give you some praise on that pic. very nicely done.

If you've got photoshop, just make a new workspace in the dimensions listed in the first post. Drag the Parkour picture into the space, center it up/shrink it/do whatever you like to it to make it look good, then put "Hyperguy.net" on it somewhere with the quote "Don't bail." Or something equally Parkour-ish.

Works for me. Around here, the two rules of Parkour that we tell to new people are:
1: Don't Bail.
2: If an authority figure tells you to knock it off and leave, comply immediately! Parkour's not as well known in the US and people (especially around here where they're all stuck up) might take issue with a bunch of kids running around and jumping on stuff.

EDIT: W00t find out a way to up images. Use www.shareloading.com . You can post adult images there (comes with a 18+ edit so you can and it won't get nuked). When you up an image, right click it and look at it's properties, then copy the link next to URL/Address.
Looks good. Gotta nitpick though...it's a little small. And by a little small, I mean it's 2 pixels too short and 24 pixels too thin. XD I'm not sure how much it'll matter in the long run, but 114 x 624 is the size requirement from the first post.

For some reason, I haven't been able to see most of the banners lately on my new monitor (its resolution is at 1680 x 1050), except for some of the Viper-themed ones and the "pixelated boobies" one. I was able to see the new ones that were posted in the thread, but even when I right-click the banner and select "View Image," I can't see anything... any idea what may be causing this??

But, alas, I'm still having trouble viewing most of the banners... would it have to do with my high monitor resolution, or the fact that I'm using a widescreen monitor?? Right now, I can see the banner of Carerra with the chopsticks in her hand looking over her shoulder (it has a diagonal orientation to it), and it looks like I could fit another copy of the image into the banner space, if what I saw was moved to the far left or right edge. In other words, I could fit two of these Carerra banners beside each other in the banner space shown on my monitor. Oh, and my resolution is currently at 1680 x 1050, in case that helps. Just thought I'd bring it up again, seeing how there's some maintenance of sorts going on here recently. =/

It's not a technical issue, as much as it is a conflict between your definition of what a banner should be and the banners being submitted. The images are of fixed size, so the higher your screen resolution, the smaller they'll look (and the less width they'll take up, meaning they'll not cover the entire width of your browser page)

Might just be me, but IE7 doesn't show the banner on the "Sup" tab. I think you should look into seeing if there's an updated portal version, HG.

LOL, I approve. =D I remember coming by here several times and seeing that site pop up instead... O_o; What exactly happened to cause that, anyway??
Perhaps we should have something similar for when you guys were trying to "update" the forum's format, and it ended up all crappy-looking... o_o;

You can blame Hyperguy for that. He forgot to pay his "internet tax" and let the domain name registration expire. Fortunately it takes 30 days before it goes up to auction, or else the squatters would still be here and we would never gotten them off our land.
Perhaps we should have something similar for when you guys were trying to "update" the forum's format, and it ended up all crappy-looking... o_o;
You can blame Hyperguy for that, too.

I worried the second I saw the squatting site that HG.net was gone forever. So I mailbombed HG's inbox.

I could probably take you out with a nuclear weapon by tracing your IP back to your ISP. Chances are fair that you're within the blast radius, and excellent that you're in fallout range.
The problem of course is trying to launch a nuclear attack via huey. Tends to make my guys out, too...

Well you could always grab a cruise missile, those things have a ridiculous range.

Good question. I'm not getting rid of the old banners, but will make new ones for the new domain name.
The reason why I didn't add the Matrix banner is because it was already added a while back. JG's just quoting it to illustrate his point that for most of this month the site hasn't been up. I don't mind at all since we actually spend a lot of time joking around about the site being down. The fact's actually manifested itself as banners and inside jokes throughout the site, even culminating into sitewide April Fool's jokes.
But what's especially cool is that people do take note when the site's down; just shows that they care enough about the site to e-mail me with the usual "WTF Hyperguy what happened this time?"
