Title: Mecha Board
Post by: Ellendesu on October 20, 2007, 01:22:56 pm: The title speaks for itself, we talk a lot about giant robots in this forum, and I feel surprised that we haven't had a giant robot/mecha forum pop up yet? I mean seriously, I think it's a good idea.

What say you?

Edit: This would not just include discussion of mecha, but also model building/collecting, etc. I think its a good idea.

The Japanese romanization gives much more edge to the name without sounding too simple in English.

(熱血 means "hot blood," but it can also mean "fiery spirit," I think; both fit; also, I have no idea if Nekketsu is the correct romanization of it)

Japanese lesson: there are no plurals in Japanese. So when it says Yuusha (勇士; "couragous warrior" or simply "hero"), it can be either "hero" or "heroes," depending on context and situation.

I say we resume discussion of anime in the Lurker's Haven and just take Otaku Confessional hostage and turn it into the new mecha board.

Thank God, I was being sarcastic and then realized sarcasm doesn't translate well on the internets, personally I think you should elect one of the really hardcore Mecha guys for the position.

At least that's how I learned it back when I used to play Street Fighter II on the SNES. Wow, nostalgia time. Sudden flashback of my brother and me looking through the SFII instruction manual and reading some of the sampel moves. And us trying to make up words to make out of Shoryu and Hadoken. And other moves. HOW DO YOU DO, KEN!? SHOW YOU, RYU?!

There was a hilarious cameo from Raiden in MK too.

Raiden: "Welcome to Raiden's Lightning Fast Used Autos, how can I help you today?"
Customer: Well, I'd like to buy a-
Raiden: *plows into customer full speed with a torpedo gesture yelling* SOYOUWANNABUYACAR!!!!?

Good times, we got knocked up points because our teacher was a Street Fighter fan and fell out of his chair laughing when Ryu and Ken were a gay couple living together with adopted chinese babies in Minnesota. Watching my friend dragon punch a 10 year old was worth it all.

Kid: Dad can I go with Jenny to the mall?
Ken: *shoryukens child but yells* YESYOUCAN!

Fuck, I miss High School
