Hi peoples..
my H-graphic novel is finally complete around 60 pages.. and yea a little viper rsr story is in there
What are the pros and cons of selling on a DL site..? can a video game company sue me for using their characters in the story...
I would like to know about selling this on a DL site...
Can i sell it directly, will I need a license...?
I would like this to go directly to my credit card...

Well in Japan they sell doujin stuff on DLsite all the time. The laws may be different depending on where you're based, but I'm guessing you'd be safe with DLsite either way.
You definitely won't get sued over the Viper part, at any rate.

Work with Viperchan. He's trying to find out the same things about selling the CCR game via DLsite. You might learn some stuff from each other's experiences.

From what i've seen, as long as you don't use the game's original title you should be okay (using the characters original names should be okay as well).
There's one doujin i saw with the title Viper R0R for example.

I love that Japan uses big circles to replace one character in a word/name and that's apparently sufficient to skirt any laws about trademarks, copyright, decency, or slander.

Makes me wonder if you can get away with a title like Viper RSR 2?

how does it work by the way.. do I just upload to their site..... :D

if you are outside of Japan, you have to go through Curious Factory. You make an account and submit your work to them, they review it and make sure it passes the terms of service, censoring, etc. then they upload it to dlsite for you. you then receive direct deposit payments.
