I was agonizing over how to do random banners this time around, and came up with a solution by accident.

Instead of having one great big long banner stretched across the top of the page I instead opted for three minibanners:

They're static now, but I'll make them randomized once I have more images to use.  I figure this would tie into the layout also:  There's three minibanners which can represent three different sections, much how like the featured part of the layout shows off three stories at a time.

I'm thinking that they could represent the sections of anime/manga, hentai, and video games.  Though, that makes me wonder how to fit in the crazy random banners. O_o

Added something really cool.

If you go to the 'Author Select' section of the CoA Blog, it'll list article authors and staff in an interface similar to a fighting game.  If you click on them, they'll lead to a profile page for the author, and list brief summaries of all of the articles they've written.

Though, since I'm the only one with an account right now, it only shows my avatar and profile page. O-o

Someone please register!  I need about 7 more registrations in order to further tweak the Author Select page.  If not, I'll just make up some accounts.

Seem to have been a one time thing.  Or maybe the combination of password change and other profile changes were too much for it to handle.

Now if I could just figure out how to post an article we'd be in business.

That, and set roles for new user registrations to author so that they can submit articles.

It looks like I'm going to have to modify some CSS on the author select screen in order to create a uniform look among different sized avatars.

Edit: Found a bug where if a user doesn't have at least one post, the profile page won't display correctly.  I'll track it down now.

The problem isn't content or whatever you people are babbling about... it's time.  People don't have time for this kids stuff anymore.  It's all good fun but it doesn't achieve anything.  You have to set aside childish things once you grow up.

I concur about time, but only to an extent.  I make time for the things I care about.  Sometimes I can't, but that's life.  But yeah, this really all is entertainment, and times especially are lean so not many people have the time for it.

I can't speak for everyone else, but when I write up something entertaining I feel particularly rewarded.  I'll admit it's not everyone's cup of tea to make interesting articles, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't have fun making them.

Point taken.  No tag clouds.  I don't see what's bad about tags themselves though.  In some cases they're more useful than categories.  Like for example, if you want to find all content related to say 'Castlevania' and some of it spans across multiple categories.
