No official connection, but Akira is clearly based off of V.G.'s Yuka, with similar body shape, hair length, and aspects of the waitress outfit. F40 also by TK, and Seela has the same glasses and hairstyle (though blonde) of V.G.'s Kaori. Makoto was later based on V.G.'s Jun (dark skin, wrestler.)
Takahiro Kimura did the character design for both Variable Geo and Viper's Rise series. The Rise cast are made to look like VG's as sort of unofficial reference, but I don't believe there's an official link between the companies behind the properties.

Always appreciate you posting your art, Saika. It's good stuff and i sincerely hope you never lose your drive to draw. As for myself, i've been watching some art tutorial vids lately to get me back in the mood to draw traditionally.
