You should get Tracing paper, and do a flat clean line drawing..

I don't have a Wacom tablet input device, but I do have a HP tx2000 series tablet PC laptop, which has Wacom built-in and supports both touch and stylus controls. Never really tried it to do drawing on it though. I can try it out if you want, as you might be able to find one of these used cheaper than you could find a Wacom input device.

I use a Wacom Bamboo. Great beginners tablet, but i recommend ponying up for the Wacom Intuos (medium size at least); supposedly you won't find a better tablet that will translate pen movement.

The next step up above that is that the Wacom Cintiq, but that's a $1000 and really for those who desire a touchscreen.

is it difficult to be drawing on the bamboo tablet, but getting your visual feedback on the monitor in front of you or is it just as easy? Ive never used a graphics tablet before.

I don't have any other tablets to compare it to, but i will say the precision will blow you away if you've been using a mouse exclusively.

The Bamboo's a great tablet no doubt, and if you're low on pocket change, then by all means pick one up, but make sure you pick up a medium-sized one.

Doesn't take too long to adjust your hand-eye coordination from tablet to monitor.

Okay thanks, Ill def pick one up. I would really like the Cintiq display one someday, but the price on that and even the Intuos is beyond my reach atm.

I have the Intous4 XL.. which is pretty good..
has a close feeling to Cintiq, but has less friction..
feels much better than my old ArtZ ...

Cintiqs i hear, have the feeling of drawing on paper..

That'll depend on which image software you use, and of course, the tablet itself.

I know Flash has a smoothing functionality, as far as what i use. Just don't expect a 1:1 translation.

You could draw at 2x and then resize the images by 50% to give a 1px effect. It's actually a little more forgiving of minor errors if you do that.

Huge improvement, and a lot more closer to your original flash work.

Pretty sure you'll need to reference the shading of an animation rather than a still.

Be careful to conserve color fidelity when you reduce the color palette for GIF. Her areolae and an area under the bed in the bottom left corner got messed up.
