Title: DeepL - my favorite new translation tool
Post by: 黒い灯影 on November 30, 2020, 11:53:27 am
I'm absolutely blown away by this app I came across...
I've always used WWWJDIC, Google translate, and a couple of other resources to try and translate JP-ENG.
But this app completely amazes me,
Its look like a regular translation process, but its feature to change words from a drop down list and then build the rest of the sentence based off of that word.
I assume it uses a form of deep learning to translate, if you're into translating you should definitely give this a shot.

Wow, I downloaded it and imported some of the script from RSR DVD and it's incredible. Thanks for sharing!

It's very good, and if you know it's a tool (as I know we here do) it is pretty apparent how useful it can be. But I've seen people assume a bit too much based on how literate the translations can appear to be - they're not perfect translations (if there were such a thing), as there's still all kinds of nuance this is not going to pick up on. I would be skeptical if someone released a full translation that was just fed to DeepL.

But, again, it IS useful, and certainly great for personal use in particular.

I've used DeepL for awhile now since this thread got made.

It's good stuff. I like it's translations more than Google's.
