Proof of Animahjong on Windows
« on: July 18, 2017, 05:10:24 pm »
Like BTR, the Animahjong games never got their Windows conversions following the V series conversions.

BTR was an obvious oversight.  Sogna never really said much about the Animahjong series, particularly after 1998 or so.  But here's some proof from the August 1996 issue of BugBug that Hobibox was taking orders for Animahjong X for Windows CD, priced at 9800 yen.

Things may have developed quite differently for Sogna if they'd followed through on this instead of going down the T/F/M path and the Guynarock remake. We may have potentially seen the Animahjong Amazon game that never was instead.

I've got them both ;D
I haven't yet taken a photo of the GTS version on the right for my collection page, but the V6 version is there.  I've also got the 3.2 version.

I'd love to get figures like this for the shop but they come up for sale on Yahoo! Japan quite rarely (maybe 3 or 4 a year) and are quite expensive. After fees and shipping, I probably pay somewhere north of $150 for each of them, which is probably out of comfort range for shop material.
